I've had a Super RedHawk years ago had have since traded it and now I have big bore single actions i.e. 475 & 500 linebaughs, BFR 500 JRH and recently acquired a performance center 500 S&W.
I think now I want to get back into double action revolvers of a smaller caliber. The Ruger RedHawk 44 magnum has recently caught my attention and I am curious to know what other forum members think of the revolver. I know it's built like a tank as all revolvers from Ruger are but I feel that it is over shadowed by the SRH.
Thank you.
Thank you encore64 for the advice.

I have two .500 JRHs -- one is a BFR, the other is a JRH custom. Both very accurate. Whitworth, where can I find a front sight like yours for my 500 JRH BFR? Has anyone put a Bowen rear sight on a BFR, is it possible?

Very nice, I think the 500 JRH BFR is one of the best revolvers going. The one I have is from the precision center and I couldn't believe the quality. I'm loading mine with a 440 grain over h110.

I have several big bore revolvers. A custom 475 linebaugh, (2) 500 Linbaugh revolvers and a 500 JRH BFR. While in cabelas yesterday I saw the 500 S&W with a 6.5" barrel for a good price ( half of what I paid for 1 custom linebaugh.to me that's a good deal.) Now the 500 smith in my mind is the closest I will get to a 500 linebaugh max + performance without paying more then the $3,000 price tag.
Long story short I would like to clean out some to add in the funds for this revolver. I'm not selling the 500 JRH. Should I sell my 475 linebaugh or keep it? The 500 JRH can do everything the 500 & 475 linebaughs can do. OR sell the two 500 Linebaughs and 475 linebaugh. So I can have just the 500 JRH and The 500 S&W? From a reloading perspective I think having the 500 S&W and 500 JRH are a good choice.
Forgive my long winded question- thank you

I have to give credit where it's due. I was thinking about this idea after seeing Reeder's 510 & 500 GNR, and looking at Lee's 450 Bonecrusher. But the thought of a 500 Linebaugh necked down to .500 diameter- with all the 50 cal bullets for the 500 S&W and the low pressure of the the 500 Linebaugh, it seems like a good idea. Has anyone thought of the same thing or knows who has done it? I have plenty of big bore revolvers 500 & 475 LN from Reeder custom and a 500 JRH BFR so I'm not necessarily looking for another reason to buy another revolver
