I just received 200 .501 400gr. bullets for mine. I'm going to start mild with HP38 and then progress.
Also I expect a new/old rear sight to arrive today for the BFR.

Very nice, I think the 500 JRH BFR is one of the best revolvers going. The one I have is from the precision center and I couldn't believe the quality. I'm loading mine with a 440 grain over h110.

My gun is a 5" Field Grade FA83, Huntington conversion, with an octagon Bbl. Not the best picture, but the only one I have. . . Here's a target I shot last year (w/4x Leupold at 52 yds, rested over the tonneau on the back of my pickup). Three shot groups to minimize recoil induced fatigue. The load marked 26.6 was with 4227. The other groups were all 14.8gr HS6 under the noted bullets. All bullets Cast Performance LFN or WFNs. The lower left group was 31.1gr of H110 under a Cast Performance 400gr LFNGC. The bolt spring broke on the third shot (the one low and left). Don't know if that caused the flier or I was jut getting tired. . . Here's a close up of the above target with each 3 round group outlined. . . Paul

I have two .500 JRHs -- one is a BFR, the other is a JRH custom. Both very accurate.

Me too. I have one I can transfer if it will hold up. I just need to figure out what base I can use on a new SBH

So far it has held up well. I haven't beat on it too heavily but it looks promising.

I have two MR BFRS. A 5 1/2" factory gun and a 7 1/2" precision center.
Had 50 AE cylinders added to both.
My personal favorite of the over 45 caliber big bores. Followed pretty closely by the 480 Ruger.

2 Dogs, here on this forum, makes them with a friend of his. Send him a PM. This sight is a vast improvement over that aluminum thing the BFRs come from the factory with.

Yes, a Bowen rear sight will work ona BFR. I had one on mine for a while, but I "borrowed" it to put on a custom.
