not sure i understand.
if it's a "just because" sort of thing, go for it.
maybe someone smart can help me here, but, i thought going from a 6 to 5 shot would involve some action/timing work as well? no?
the 5 shooter 69s i've seen so far are not target guns but the couple ive seen at our local range, the boys can keep ww white box 240s on a playing card at 25 yards which may be all you need in a back-up piece?

...i love discussions like "fire lappring" almost as much as arguing over motor oil!!
and yes, fire lapping does work - in most cases - when done correctly - as outlined here..
to much, and you have a smooth, smooth bore!
regarding patches/cleaning semi-autos, years ago when i was in germany, a bundeswehr armorer explained to us (american gi types) why the germans only used pull thru cleaning tools on their weapons......
a little common sense and patience can go a long, long way... whether fire lapping or taking care of semiauto rifles/shotguns..

i have a couple of hornets, a full-stock cz, a tc contender and a ruger #3.
powders for best performance depending on bullet are at least for me 296/110 and/or lil-gun.
primers are a constant test and that subject among hornet shooters is as likely to stir up emotions the way arguing over motor oil does with nascar fans, so...
when i got the no 3, the fella i bought it from made me a super deal because the gun wouldn't shoot worth a hoot.
another hornet shooter had a no 3 and told me to just shoot a couple of boxes of factory stuff keeping the barrel pointed towards the target and don't worry about groups...
my reaction was "huh?"
he went on to advise that i should keep that now chamber formed brass and neck size only - he was on to the tricks of ruger singles!
following his advice, i neck sized my ammo and suddenly the former spray of hornet rounds started turning in very neat little groups!
rimfire central, predator masters and accurateshooter forums have piles of 22 hornet info!
