For iron sighted hunting, I love the fiber optic front and have two hunting revolvers set up with fiber optic front and Bowen V-rear with vertical white line. I don't feel handicapped at all with that combo within 75 yards - which is my iron sighted self-imposed limit. I've killed several critters with that combo. Heres a write up I did a while back on one of the revolvers... Old Model 41 Mag

I'm fairly new to using cast bullets, so I've been leaning on Dicks's experience - I also use his cast bullets, for I don't have time to cast. I've been testing those hollow point cast in .410, .430, and .475 -so far. I've yet to take an animal with the .475, but the .410 and .430 have performed extremely well on whitetails. My experience with the .430 pentas (pushed with 19 grains of 2400 from a 7.5" barrel) have been as previously stated - petals shear and base keeps penetrating. The .410 hollow points (pushed with 17 grains of 2400 form a 6" barrel) make one of the prettiest mushrooms you've ever seen - I was able to capture one under the off-side hide. So far, with my limited experience, I'm really impressed with them. I'm really looking forward to sending one of those big .475's thru one, but don't expect to retrieve it.

If it were mine, I'd use Flitz gun and knife wax - I use it on all my guns.

Needsmostuff, the Linder and Black Micarta Rigid are some very nice simple basic design knives. I do like simple business like design, I find beauty in simplistic function with no wasted effort or flashiness. The SS 44spec with the Rigid speaks of that as well. Kim, that oak leaf pattern on the holster speaks to me as well, is it a Barranti?? Trapr Yes, that's a rig and carving from Doc.

Dick, them jokers seemed to have been hungry enough to eat lead - just couldn't digest it very well.

Congrats, Randy, on a dream hunt that came to fruition. I hope to do the same in the near future. That Waterbuck is a sure stud and the impala is no slouch!

Well done, as usual, Randy! I may have to get some cast load data from you once you get it settled in. I’ve only tried one cast load in mine and it didn’t do what was expected of a freedom arms and I jumped straight to jacked. I settled on a 260 partition load I got from Ken O’Neill and the 250 xtp load you’re using - both extremely accurate in my M97.

My bad, Alcorn - It's a custom build by "Nine Run Guns" and is chambered in 28 Nosler. I didn't have this commissioned myself, so I do not have the build sheet on it.....If I'd had it built, it would be chambered in 284 win. That being said, it's a 1/2 MOA gun.

I don’t know if it would be my grail gun, but I would love to have a TLA flattop target in 44 or 41 mag - yes, I’d hunt with it😎.
