I’ve shot everything from prairie dogs to Cape Buffalo, Jack Rabbit's to Elk to African Lion with a 454. Guess I don’t know any better either. Maybe I need a 6.5 (manbun) creedmore that shoots flat as a laser out to 1,000 yards…… Mike, if you keep at it long enough, you’ll learn something.

James, we all learn from different forums. I just recently learned a 454 Casull is not enough for a bison. That info will kept me from making a mistake when I decide to hunt bison.
Oh, and I also learned that I owe it to the bison to buy a hunting rifle to use - not a handgun.
Almost forgot…I’m currently learning about “brush bullets”.

Bump…still looking for a grip screw. I ordered the one from Numrich and it doesn’t fit - too small.

I need a grip screw for the factory wood grips on a charter bulldog. If you have one you can spare, I may be interested.

I prefer single actions for hunting, but occasionally use double actions and semi’s… Ruger GP100 .357 S&W M57 no dash Ruger Super Redhawk 480 S&W 686 S&W M57 no dash Springfield TRP Operator 1911 10mm Springfield TRP Operator 1911 10mm S&W 686 S&W 686 Ruger GP100 .357

I think Kim Ralston has some experience with this. Seems he posted a video one time of a kill he got with one. Hopefully he sees the thread. Yes, I’ve used the Old Army to hunt whitetail and ram. Using the .457 round ball, I get 4” groups at 50 yards. Although the balls are very accurate, I wasn’t quite pleased with performance on game - although it worked. I’ve since acquired some Kaido bullets, which are developed specifically for the Old Army. I haven’t had time to work with that bullet yet, but hopefully before next hunting season I will.
