Recently returned to Contenders and the price of admission definitely stung but I'm glad I did it. Top is SSK .357 and bottom is MGM. .38Spl.

I'm on the list but it's been so long I can't remember what I reserved. I have three Contender frames but I still want some of these.

I'm a retired Chief Petty Officer, USCG. The anchor is the symbol of the rank.

I carry an M&P 340 that's been converted to also fire 9mm in clips. I usually have it loaded with heavy crimp 9mm but it will still shoot .38Spl and .357 mag. I've fired 5 rounds of heavy .357 out of it and my hand was a bloody mess, 9mm is pretty easy on me.

Nebraska the class is usually a hundred bucks (up to the instructor) and then the state fees for the license and background check are another hundred. Lot's of ranges offer free or discounted classes to members. I got the class for free and it was I believe 6hr class and 2hr range. Class was basically state laws and range was being able to hit the broadside of a barn from the inside. First permit was for 5yrs and I think renewals are for 3yrs for $50 which you can do online. Don't be like my son, if you miss the renewal date you have to take the whole class over again.

If you decide not to buy it, I'd sure like to discuss it with you!

I had one. It's one of the few guns I wish I hadn't sold.

My favorite cartridge. I have a few thousand cases and probably only lose 3 or 4 a year.

Just bought a G41. While I have no plans for .45 Super at this point, it could happen in the future.

I think it's a valuable tool to use for certain instances and will continue to do it in moderation when called for. I've used both processes, imbedding the bullet as well as placing JB in the forcing cone. To date I've only used JB on rimfires as I wasn't impressed with trying to imbed loaded rounds. Thank you all so much for the insights!

Absolutely Mr. B! Every gun does not need the procedure done at all, it's usually a last resort for a gun I can't get to shoot after trying multiple other efforts.

Hi All,
I've fire lapped several guns in the past and had very good luck with the process after reading some of the works of Hoover and Garza whom I thank very much for their efforts. I'm left with a question though, I recall both gentleman stating that when the group size shrinks noticeably that you should STOP which I have done with stellar results. Question is, what happens if you do not STOP? Can you create an over bore situation, does the accuracy fall off within like 3 more rounds, has anybody taken it too far for the sake of science?

My dealer ships guns for me with no FFL charge, he simply charges the USPS cost and he even packs it up for me. I assume he does it just as a customer service function and simply because of that I will go nowhere else for transfers. Most of the local shops want to gouge for everything and because of that they end up with nothing from me.
