So I sell brass at the local gun show… the last 2 years I’ve sold all the 357 Magnum I could round up… and no 38 special, been taking in a lot of once fired 38 special… so it must be being shot, maybe not handloaded in the Midwest…curious if this is local, or if it’s Alive and we’ll in your area???
Maybe a lot of ccw guns that aren’t being loaded for???

I dunno...
It took me a while to finally get Starline 38 +P Brass. I wanted it for my upcoming Clements Gun.
Lots of 38 Special Guns out there. It's been around a really long time.

Tons of brass already out there maybe and it lasts forever. Also a lot of pocket revolvers are 357 now so there's less demand for special brass. 38 special ammo has gotten pricey, so there is definitely incentive to load for it. Who knows?

I’ve always enjoyed it as a revolver cartridge, but now I’m getting very interested in it as a low-octane rifle round.
Thanks a lot, Huey…

It makes a great rifle round… used to shoot a lot of CASS with it, both revolvers and lever gun

38 Special "dead?"
HAH!
It will be here long after Keith Richards has passed.

I imagine the folks who do handload for it already have their brass. Surely isn't dead around my ranch. Go through a couple thousand rounds a year.

I started saving, buying and scrounging 38 Special brass when I began handloading ten years ago. I've got nearly a thousand cases ready to load now. They can be reloaded so many times without failure that I don't anticipate needing to buy any more in my lifetime.

I load a couple thousand a year. Brass seems to last forever.

My favorite cartridge. I have a few thousand cases and probably only lose 3 or 4 a year.

Load all my 38's in brass and 357's in nickel , easier to keep separate that way for me. I won't run out of cases in my lifetime.
