Too bad the reloading dies aren't with it.... Reeder sells Hornady dies at a reasonable price. He supports his wildcats better than Federal did their 338. If that goes cheap enough it’d be worth sending back for a new 41 mag cylinder. My thoughts exactly…..

Of all times for Spring rain in NM…
Oh well, I’ll pass on the aurora for no fires.

Hope he gets past it. I have an old friend who has it and I don’t suspect he’ll ever be the same again. Fatigue and pain….. I’ll send one up…

I had an issue with a $$ rifle I bought from Cabelas once. Turned out a family member stole the gun and sold it to Cabelas. The original owner decided to take it out of the thief’s hide and I got to keep the gun…
Weird but true….

Just to keep this thread alive, nice improvements Greg. I finally got some bullets cast for it and plan to shoot soon now that the weather has gotten a little better!

I too would go with the 5” 629. Goldilocks barrel length for the N-frame.

First caribou I shot you could have killed by throwing a rock, second was 350 yards the very next day.
Just like everything else…just depends…be prepared…..

I'm following this closely as I just got a custom .25-20 blackhawk I'm concerned about. The clean chamber and brass is what I've read too. Don’t worry Greg, your 25-20 shoots just fine. No worries here.... I just need to shoot it! I do have an uncanny way of getting things screwed up sometime though so information is good just in case....

I'm hardly the guy to help here, but before others more knowledgable come along it might be nice to know if you cleaned the chambers and wiped lube off the brass before shooting. Seems some say clean and dry is the trick. Others say it's the geometry of certain rounds that make bottleneck revolvers work or fail. Chamber finish plays a role as well I believe. Thankfully those items can generally be corrected. I'm following this closely as I just got a custom .25-20 blackhawk I'm concerned about. The clean chamber and brass is what I've read too.

Those skeletonized hammers have grown on me. Like a lot of folks who were ambivalent about them, now I wish I'd snagged some on closeout. Me too...this is the first one I'd seen in person and they're nice. I did get a couple of the express hammers and a couple OM Super hammers he did when they were on sale. I still have the No. 1 trigger too....

I bid the .44 far north of what I initially intended but the buzzard wants it real bad. Maybe next time… Thanks! I can tell you that selling to a NR bidder gives me the willies...I almost blocked him but we were all there once so I figured I'd give him a chance. He already contacted me and sounds excited so I feel better...
