SO who is the lucky fellow that snagged it?
If you did, you really helped me out!
AB neg fetches a premium, but I think I may have run a bit short.

I love Unique in the 12 ga. Most trap shooters in my area like powders similar to Clays as they take less powder for trap loads. I prefer it as it is a powder use a lot in handguns. Plus the recoil impulse is "softer" than Clays speed powder. It helps when shooting a couple hundered at a setting.
I use unique in 1 1/8oz / 1200 fps loads. They are 22.5 grains. ( I use windjammer and winchester waa12 wads. Yes I know it's a substitue, it just depends on distance I'm shooting.)Data in the 2004 Alliant guide has charges from 22-23.5 for 1200 fps loads.
I use Blue dot in the 20 gauge. It sounds redundant, but 22.5 grains and a 1oz load for 1200 fps. Wads are generally winchester.
Hope this helps.

Ostadoc, First question is regarding your regulations. Some states word the barrel length on revolvers the same as a single shot (which includes the chamber), and measure just the barrel only and not the chamber. ( Illinois is one) I'm told that other states measure the barrel length with this clause, "barrel length is the distance from the firing pin to the muzzle". This takes into account the Chamber on the revolver which is missing from the measurement. So the barrel length is measured the same as a single shot thus giving a 4 5/8" barrel another 1.7" thereabouts. As November stated you could shorten the longer barrel and add the longer ejector rod housing. A 5 " barrel looks good with one. I think I've posted this pic before. However the top gun is a 5" with full length ERH The lower left is a 6.5" barrel with a long ERH The lower right is a 6.5" barrel with a standard ERH Here is another view, Middle Left revolver

I would recommend Glenn Larson of White label lube. www.lsstuff.com/I too, make my own lube but the stuff from Glenn is really good. Plus he's a great guy. The Carbanuba red is good lube but it likes a heater, at least it works much better in my 4500 with a little warmth.

The easiest way to get the "weight" out of a Redhawk is to have Hamilton Bowen make it a 500 Linebaugh with a 4" barrel. ( using a re-bored factory tapered barrel) The bigger holes take out quite a bit of weight......
But that's probably not the answer you wanted.... LOL

I shoot 255's in my 1911 at 800 fps with unique.
I tend to get the "whatya doin that for?" from the velocity guys. I just tell them it's my semi auto 45 Schofeld.
If one really thinks about it, that sure isn't a bad thing.

If it does have LCS stamped on the grip frame under the grip, it will make the gun a bit more unique. That will mean that the grip frame and likely the hammer and trigger as well are actually made by Linebaugh and are not Ruger in origin. There weren't many of the Linebaugh stainless frames made.

Those grips are SWEET. however I would have omitted the case heads. I think the sheephorn is beautiful, lots of character.

Mighty fine Axe,
I love Dustin's grips, not to mention John's guns. Of course I wouldn't turn down a couple (dozen) by Dustin either.
Bigbores, Out of curiosity. doe's your stainless have LCS stamped on the grip frame under the grip panel?

My best friend has one of the 4 door models and I love it. The ride is much nicer over distance and it still is pretty nimble. The plus it I actually fit in it.
Now for the retro. A classmate of my father had an old CJ. He was a notorious hot rodder. He shoehorned a Ford 429 super cobra jet into it. Big tires, Side pipes and a lead foot. It's a wonder he didn't end up smushed. I never got to ride in it, not sure I would want to.... He is now retired and the CJ is long gone. Replaced with a Ford ranger. The good news is he still cannot resist tinkering with it.

Shot in a Linebaugh custom with 6" barrel
Lee 400gn RF mould Primers were wlp for Std or mag loads
5.0 Trailboss 611fps Great plinking load, negligible recoil and report. I will probably shoot this at the local bullseye league, just to really stir the pot. 12.0 Unique 1084fps very consistant, standard deviations in the single digits 25.0 H-4198 900fps nearly a full case, haven't shot if much other than to chronograph. It would be promising if you only had a limited amount of powder choices or had a bunch of this powder to use. 18.0 Vv 110 vel unknown (1000 to 1100 est) Haven't chronographed it yet. It feels like, and shoot close to the 12gn Unique load. It shows promise as a consistant shooting load. Enough powder to eliminate double charging. The 400's at 1000-1100 are nice to shoot. The Unique load is my "all around" load now, but I wish it filled the case a bit more. Therefore the Vv110 load is more attractive. I'll have to shoot it more to see.
Hope this helps. Todd

To live up to it's name, I think you should put it in a handgun Lee.
