Six pages about dead rattlers and only two pictures??? if the two "gents" want to argue,go over to the Ruger forum politics and religion section, where you can "participate "until your fingers cramp. Going, Going..............................

Am just home from long weekend at camp. Leave you guys alone for a few days, and look what happens ! LOL. Our camp has 200 + acres near the Clarion River, in Elk Co., Penn.. A few yrs back, we lost a Chessy, a bird dog, right in the camp mowed yard. Could have been one of the many kids that play there. We've found rattlers in the porch. Under tree stands. On the rock, where the rope swing on the river is. All of these rattlers get killed in the quickets, most effiecent manner possible. Which is usually a SA sixgun. They taste somewhere between frog legs and clams, but more tender than either. Killing is not a habit, its a choice. I've made mine, based on reality. The Bible seems to be OK with that. I have not been to 'Nam voluntarily or otherwise. steve b

Next time someone brings a noxious reptile in the door, make sure all the venom is drained out beforehand. Anyway, me and my older brother used to have big squabbles, but we got over it. Couple of days and we were good friends again. Hint, hint.

Boge would love to see a pic of one of your guitars with a rattle on it . Sixgunnn You can't see them, they are inside. I keep them in as many of my guitars and my mandolins as possible, but I have quite a nice collection so I'm always looking for rattles, and I very seldom see p'isonous snakes around my place. I have a standing deal with non-p'isonous snakes: stay out of the house, and you can have as many yard mice and moles as you can eat. Rattles inside one's instrument is an old fiddler's tradition, some say it was to ward off evil spirits. A more practical (and, to me, more elegant) explanation of the tradition is that the old fiddlers used to leave their instruments hanging on a nail in the barn where the barn dances were held on Saturday nights, and the smell of the rattlers kept the mice from nesting inside the fiddle.
