I hate to sound like I'm always pissy about Reeder but I'm wondering what exactly a large frame New Model has to do with Taffin???

John Taffin's favorite Reeder configuration is the El Diablo, which is what this looks like it is based on. He will do this on a small frame OM, too, which is a Taffin ingredient for a PPP.

Maybe it's just the Bounty quicker-picker-upper background, but I am underwhelmed.

Looks like a nice one for the gun safe, most anything gun wise with Taffin's name on will become a collectors piece at some point I would think. Gary and Taffin are friends and I would bet at some point that gun will show up in some magazines and a book or 2.

majorkap, you took the words right out of mouth. I can't get past the Reeder engraving and huge lettering, stars, dinosaur's etc.

<BARF!>
Man, there sure has been a run of ugly guns on the net lately!
And a .44spl on a large frame?
I have never seen Gary Reeder's vehicle, but I suspect it has 20" spinners and those fake dryer duct exhaust pipes coming out from under it.

Very classy post "subsonic"... I love Reeder threads and the comments...seems to bring out all the same critics, all the same haters...all the same cheap shot artists.
I wish some of you guys would just ignore it if you disagree with his style, apparently someone must like his guns (35 years going now)...the personal attacks get old, especially considering most of you have never spoken to the man or experienced his very giving nature. I've seen him do more for our heroes and the less fortunate among us than I can even begin to count. He deserves a hellluva lot better from this community and has earned it.

+1 Reeder is a good guy. To like or not like his work is simply personal preference. Doesn't make anyone more or less for thinking one way or the other. So far as my thoughts on his work, I don't think any regulars need me to say. What I like is good and what you like is good. You make your choice and spend your money. And I don't think anyone will dispute the fact that I spend my money! And FWIW.. I thinking I'll have mine done on a FT 3 screw 357!

I've experienced his "giving nature" firsthand. Sorry, I just can't forget how negative he was about Old Models and .44Spl's before he realized he could make money on them. Are we not allowed to voice our opinion of a new gun on the market? Is it not political correctness to censor ourselves in case someone's feelings may be hurt??? My response would've been no different, regardless of who made the sixgun.

Sorry to have hurt your feelings. I'm sure reeder is a good guy. I would never say his guns are put together poorly, just don't care for that style. I guess some people can't take a joke.

Now if you had posted a picture of the Ultimate Bisley and said that you wanted it engraved like the original Doc Holliday model, I'd be all over it. I'm just not gonna sit here for several years sharing my bad experiences with Reeder and then order a custom Ruger from him. This is the sixgun I wanted him to build for me before the honeymoon ended: Engraved like this one:

Oh OK, it was a joke.
Say whatever you like...I don't believe in censorship but I'll express my thoughts on it too.
I like the concept of the JT piece and I'd personallly have it done on a smaller frame OM or ideally an .357 OM FT.

Mine will be done on a 3 screw 41 mag.
I appreciate Gary, he has always taken great care of me.
