I'd post some FAs but my 454s don't have 45 Colt Cylinders. I read and hear that the 5 shot 45 Colt is a waste in the Ruger. The idea seems to be that unless you are trying to 454 your 45 Colt the 6 shot Ruger cylinder will take all that the 45 Colt can provide. Guess if one just had a pocket full of money he could have a custom oversize 6 shot cylinder made for a little added safety margin. I think we have forum buddies with custom tight chambered 6 shot 45 Colts done on 357 maximum cylinders.

Modified the Thread name so that all 45 bore revolvers will work. Opens up the window for my FA 454s! 7.5 inch and a 6 inch with a little toe!

You might get a bit more accuracy from having the correct throat dimensions with a rebored 44 mag cylinder. Or you can ream the throats on a stock cylinder to the correct size. As far as the barrel is concerned you can get good ones from Ruger. If it were me I'd take my chance with a stock Ruger and if it didn't perform, think about going the custom route.
