impressive..... Mike is right about pin point accuracy from M-83 I just recently picked up an FA 654, and loaded some 210 XTPs for it. Probably won't have a chance to test it for a couple weeks, but if I can get a group at 50 yards that looks like that one I will be over the moon! Fantastic target. -Freeze

Yeah, my fifty yard groups ain’t that good, but I would bet on it being about half and half, shooter and Ruger, in no particular order. I can testify that the FA 83 I had was the most accurate revolver I’ve ever shot, even though I never shot it past 25 yards.

It’s also very accurate well beyond 25 yards… It also already has 3 kills since leaving your safe.

I have no doubt I am the weak link when it comes to group size with my other 2 FA 83s. -Freeze

REVOLVER accuracy comes before BULLET accuracy comes before LOAD accuracy.
Revolver accuracy can be tested at closer range than bullet accuracy. A revolver that groups tight @ 25 yards has a good chance of continuing to group tight @ 50 and 100 yards. Nevertheless, confidence on the Firing Line depends on trusting the revolver to perform to the distance of competition. To secure competitive confidence requires testing at the full distance.
Bullets vary in DYNAMIC BALANCE. The greater the distance, the better bullet balance must be for continued accuracy. All from the same revolver. David Bradshaw

At my lease now and just got in from shooting it for the first time. Mercy… after shooting my 97s almost exclusively for the past few years, this feels like a 22. It’s ready for pork with irons out to 75 now for sure. Clocked my load at 1485 from 15 feet behind the chronograph. It’s the 210 xtp over a healthy dose of H110. I was hoping for 1500 but I think this is close enough.
Trapr will be here in a few weeks and if he brings his chronograph, I’ll clock it over his as well.
Two things this gun needs. A narrower front sight from Fermin which I’ve already ordered. And a trigger job. It breaks at 4# now but I like them no more than 2#.
But, it’s pretty dang good as is. Thanks again for a great ‘deal, Zeus!

But, after seeing what the BFR 357 Magnum is capable of... I did this in a 5.5” redhawk. I re-cannelured the 210xtp to seat it to 1.72” and a stiff charge of enforcer netted 1700fps from the 5.5” barrel.

Randy, it will probably correct to 1500fps once you adjust it to muzzle velocity and not 15’ from the muzzle. A 41mag in a FA83 pretty much negates the need for a. 414sm, except that I can “safely” carry 6 rounds, I’ve considered converting the 414 to 5 shot. When I asked Jack about it initially he said the 414 doesn’t need a 5 shot Cyl. so we stayed with the original 6 shot. I do think a 5 hole 414sm would be an awesome hunting round especially with 250+ grain bullets, it would be traveling in undiscovered country, I believe.

I have dual cylinders for my FA83 and 5 shot Super Blackhawk custom, in 410GNR, which is a .454 necked to 41 caliber. It loves heavy bullets (250gn +) and really belts out speed. I know you will ask if I chrono’ed them, and I have not, yet. It sure barks a lot more than the 260 at 1300 in standard 41mag.

About what I get from the 357max with 165gr bullets.
