Well...went back and visited upon the .41 Mag Blackhawk at a local shop I mentioned in my previous thread. My mind was pretty made up went I walked in the door, but they had a box of Winchester 210gr Silvertips sitting next to it that were to be included in the sale. A small, but decisive push, and out the door I went with a new caliber to learn more about.

Nice Ruger in a good caliber. Good choice in my opinion, enjoy your new gun.

Your going to have to widen that stable, there will be more. Congratulations, the 41 is an awesome cartridge

Probably one of the most versatile .41s for the money....love mine.
The ammo...if that is a ST it should be 175 grains... Platinum Tip is 240... Don't think Winchester makes a 210 grain .41 anymore...
The 175 ST runs mid 1200s from a 4" barrel...made for quick followup shots when used for personal protection... Real nice factory load to start out on .41 with...

Nice acquisition campfire, and looks to be in excellent condition. I’d like to have another one in a 5.5” barrel, but I don’t recall ever seeing one.

Not a thing wrong with what I see. A good gun,, in a great caliber, with ammo to start with. Wait,, I do see a problem. It's only ONE .41 mag. I'll bet it clones into others. Seriously, nice buy & you will discover why so many of us like them.

They come up for sale once in a while on the auction sites but usually sell for over a grand. www.gunbroker.com/item/948526692

campfire...those 210s will be running in the 1300-1350 area from your gun...would suggest you change out the cheese grader grips for smooth ones before shooting. I had the same grips on a .41 Flat Top and they were not fun to shoot with full loads...

I have that exact model. The grips are definitely not suited for a 41 mag. (checkered grips in general don't belong on a single-action). These new plastic ones are very sharp and also very thin.

I agree regarding the grips. All of my single actions wear custom wood, and this gun will get some wood stocks too.
rjm52, 1300-1350 with the 210s sounds pretty good! I was just looking at 210gr .44 mag SuperX that was listed at 1250. I'm looking forward to getting this to the range.
