If it was a Distributor Exclusive I believe the original distributor has some sort of say in the production of that model in the future...anyone know for sure.
In .41s it would be nice to see some more Flat Tops, stainless BH and Bisley models. In talking to some people at Ruger, they said they have so many paid for Distributor Exclusives they have a hard time just putting their standard catalog items out.
Problem is they make 500, you pay $500 and then a year later it is a $1200 collector piece...

A flattop .41 sounds nice! Seems like an ideal woods carry sixgun. I really like the flattop platform size, and I've got Bisley large frame Blackhawks for stouter loads.

I missed the boat on the blued Flat Tops, but I snagged one of the 2010/11 run of the 5.5" Bisleys right as they were released. Same deal with the stainless 6 1/2"er & my Bisley SBH Hunter from the 2016 run. Don't even wanna know what they'd cost now. I remember seeing some ridiculous prices on GB shortly after the 'Rona made its debut & just quit looking.

The .41 Flat Top was on the all steel .44 Magnum platform so was heavier than a standard BH. It also had the early style XR3 gripframe with the cheesegradder grips. Ruger only made 118 of them in 4 5/8" and 182 in 6.5". I heard there was a small second run but never confirmed it.
Had one of the 4 5/8" guns and it shot well...but didn't like the XR3 gripframe and sold it.

My blued 5.5 flattop 45 is one of my favorites and I find the XR3 grip frame fits quite well. Of course then I haven't shot anything over 255gr at about 1000fps out of it either, so perhaps the .41 magnum with full loads would be a bit much for that grip.

The xr3-red grip frame works just fine with the 41magnum, and not too bad in 44 magnum too, if held properly.

I prefer the Bisley, though the SBH works well enough for me & I found the SBH Hunter bits first, so that decision was easy enough. I like the XR3-RED well enough for .357 Mag & below, but if the caliber starts with a 4, I need the Bisley or SBH grip frame.

…I also have all 4 barrel lengths Blackhawks, … I’m trying to do the same in stainless, lacking only the 4 5/8”. Still kicking myself for not going ahead & springing for both when I picked up the 6 1/2”er. I got both at the same time and soon wished I had gotten another 6.5 and cut it to 5.5 inch.

I put a "fat" set of Ruger poly-ivory on mine....looked much better and nicer to shoot.
If I had kept FT it was going to have a standard SBH gripframe installed. I had a 70s vintage BH with one and was a joy to shoot... The standard Ruger Bisley grip unfortunately does nothing for me.

I can’t/won’t shoot with Ruger’s normal rosewood grips on the XR3-RED. With the size & “build” of my mitts, the flare at the bottom guides the heel of the grip frame into the meat of my palm with painful & unerring accuracy. “Gunfighter” grips help with that, but only to a point.
