That's a real shame. They are truly the finest of the Uberti Guns.
I've got the 45 Colt and 44-40 Versions. Added 45 ACP and 44 Special Cylinders respectively.
They are amazingly accurate guns and my favorite to shoot just to put a smile on my face.
They made some in 357 Magnum, but I missed out on that run. Maybe we'll see more calibers in the future...

Until they make adjustable impact bullets, we'll need adjustable sights to hit with

All my sights are fixed because, well, that's the way it was in 1873.🤠 So was black powder and mercuric primers. And lots of horse manure. Tow of those three are things of the past. Bob Wright

My thought exactly. How many people still travel by horse and buggy?
I can see fixed sights for self defense or games. Of course, in 1873 revolvers were for defense.
But, I find it much easier to utilize adjustable sights for defense than fixed sights for hunting.
Guess it all comes down to what each person uses their guns for. As far as sticking with one load, that's like watching paint dry. I'm glad that those who preceded us had the spirit to experiment, learn and progress. I still think there is plenty to learn for those willing.

Bob Wright Im talking about the firearm, not the ammunition. A single action army firearm of 1873, and replicas thereof, only have fixed sights, regardless of whether or not they are shooting modern ammunition.

Mine will likely be my one and only fixed sight revolver. The more time I spend in Montana hunting, fishing, etc. the more I want a reliable, simplistic, hammer if I ever need it (and let's hope not). The rear sight is permanent so that'll never get broke or knocked (I did break a rear sight once in a fall). The front sight is robust allowing a good picture and less likely to break. It'll be regulated for 410gr at 1000-1100 as a one load gun. One less thing to think about.

Only fixed sight revolver I owned in 69 years was NAA .22 and a pocket Beretta Bobcat. Otherwise I have zero use for a revolver with fixed sights.

I have a 5 1/2 inch Colt SAA chambered in 45 colt & 45 ACP that is dead on @ 20 yds.with my loads. Alan Harton sighhted it in by bending the barrel to make point of aim...this one is a keeper. It is just plain fun when using either caliber

I am daily carrying a New Vaquero in 45 Colt that I have never had a complaint with. No bending sights, no worrying about loads. Shoots what I want when I want. My Father's Vaquero in 45 Colt is a freaking anomaly with how it shoots. I dont mind a little work to get them there, cause once they are there, there they are all the time.

Variety is the spice of life.

For me, truer words have never been spoken.

Reloaders do the same load over and over and over...Handloaders experiment.

I like tinkering with loads. However I like simplicity as time goes by. Plinkers and hunting rounds for the 45 colt. If I need more I'll grab something bigger.
