For me, its not the ability to adjust my sights, but the much better sight picture adjustable sights provide. This would suffice as far as I'm concerned: Not adjustabel, but look at that flat top across the top fof the blade. Bob Wright What make & model is that? I looked on the Uberti site, but was unable to find. Thanks.

There used to be a guy that would do this That's an intriguing rear sight set up. I would like to see more of it, if you have more photos (front sight as well).

FROM ELMER KEITH 1955: "We believe in accurate sighting of even 2 inch pocket guns and personally would prefer them with an adjustable target rear sight."

I agree with others regarding the sight picture on most fixed sight revolvers. I prefer something black and robust (like my coffee). That said I have a fixed sight 500 on order but with a drift adjustable front blade resembling the sights on the revolver Dustin Linebaugh made for Boge. In fact I'm mimicking that revolver (and the one highlighted in the bear spray post) except for a square grip frame and walnut stocks.

Literally all of my fixed sight handguns are self defense guns. All my SAs wear adjustable sights. I did have a Wrangler but we didn’t see eye to eye….

This is a timely thread. Clements is working on my first ever customized fixed sight gun.
Of course, he's working on sights...

I don't vary the loads I shoot so I like the Rough Country sight.
It's adjustable until I need it to be fixed.

Adjustable sight guns… do we really need them???
Yep.
They are fixed sighted after we get them to hit where we want them to.

MWM started this thread to continue a subject touched on in the 38-44 Thread. So, I'm going to quote part of what John Taffin posted in that thread.
"The Heavy Duty was designed with law enforcement in mind, however Smith & Wesson did not take long to realize the versatility of what they had and in late 1931 brought out the .38/44 Outdoorsman. This was nothing more than a Heavy Duty fitted with target sights for, just as its name suggested, outdoor use."
So, I'm in agreement with this still today. Adjustable Sights are best for outdoor use. Hardly a new theory.
We saw a resurgence of fixed sight guns during the cowboy action craze. But, like it or not, cowboy action shooting was/is a game. Where hunting is an ever changing endeavor.

I covet thy pistol (and I think he knows it cause he doesn't wear it much in plain sight when I am around). I thought it would be punishing, but it certainly is not at all in my opinion. Now I only got to fire two rounds, but hey, I still wanted more! BBD did lots of little tweaks that really made up a fine weapon. It is a pleasure to behold, that is for sure.

You don't need to run much past 1000 fps. It's like having a 12ga slug gun in your hand. A 400gr bullet at 1000 is formidable but doesn't punish the shooter. I've let a few others shoot my 500L and they all expected a lot worse.
