Ok Guys we are at 20 Likes, 14 hates and 7 in the middle! I am impressed and so far very surprised! Thanks a million guys! By the way the XL Dragoon is looking pretty good for those of you in the middle! Bugging out the triggers this weekend for new and old. Had to move the finger lever portion forward a .100 thousandths! R

Ronnie, Only speaking for myself here but I would prefer that you not move the trigger any farther forward than absolutely necessary.

We will see, but they might be trying to occupy the same space Shakey. Like i said we will see. And i agree even if its just a few thousandths and we turn the square back into a trigger stop! I will definately keep you posted bud!

In my mind the only way I can see to keep original trigger position, would be to, move the dimensions of the grip surface instead of the trigger guard itself, move arch up and back the same amount.

I have a grip frame that is set back allready. But it requires a larger hand. however staying with the original shape and platform, moving the trigger guard forward and matching the trigger might make it shoot better for some folks. Now that i have the capability of making triggers and hammers it seems to be a better alternative than building a frame around what is available!

I understand the limitations. Just passing along preference.
Improvements are always appreciated but factory is still OK.

Leadhound is right. I should have tried to put a Dragoon Grip Frame, or one of Ronnie’s grip frames, on the Ruger 480 SBH. However..., a friend wanted it and I was at a weak moment after buying the BFR so I let him talk me out of it. Now I’m already thinking of finding another 4.6” Ruger 480 SBH, with swapping to a Dragoon grip frame in mind. Large single action revolver addiction is hard to beat, especially when it comes to Rugers.
