The xr3 red ,xr3 and Bisley all beat hell out of my middle knuckle the Dragoon doesn't,so put me down for a like. Pachameyrs and Hogues make the xr3's shootable, Eagle grips with the filler behind the trigger guard on the Bisley.

I love the extra length of the Dragoon style grip frame. The square-back trigger guard does not bite my knuckle and I like the distinctive look but, won't go so far as love. A Dragoon style grip frame with a little extra knuckle room sounds like a winner to me. Well Shakey Here we go bud! Pipe in Robb! This is going to be a Super Blackomatic XL Dragoon! Extended .250" in the front lowered .125" on the Bottom and moved forward behind the trigger .125" as well. Little extra room for sausage fingers or gloves! For those of us that like the look but not the bite! The XL is in black and the red shows the original Trigger guard old model Dragoon. Oh ya i forgot to put the original trigger in there for comparison but this one is lowered and moved forward to accommodate the geometry changes. And to look like an original Blackie trigger! Has a big fat Honkasaurus Rex Wide spur Hammer! This one is for the Old Model and uses the plunger style trigger return. I will bust out the new model tommorow and get em both chopped out soon after that! And we will see if we like it! Whata ya think Fellas? Bet all you Fine Gentlemen (Veterans of this great Forum) had no idea the caca devaca you started in 2019 with that thread CNC BRASS BISLEY GRIP FRAMES. ( WHATS IT WORTH TO YOU) HUH? Im having way to much fun here man! This just aint right>hahahaha.

I agree with Mr. Taffin the SBH grip frame wears my kuckles out with all but mild loads. I have two OM SBH's but they are not used with heavy loads, the Bisley works wonders for me. It's a H for me.

Got two old models with the dragoon grip frame. They look classy and feel great in my hand. Love 'em. But, I just shoot paper and steel, no heavy loads.
Ronnie, thanks for all the effort you put into your posts and drawings!

I don't like the looks of them personally.

I own all of the different g/f's that Ruger has offered. I can shoot all of them w/o pain or problems. I do feel the Bisley is a better grip IN MY HANDS for heavy recoiling calibers. The SBH g/f is no problem for me. I actually love it for it's different look, as well as it feels fine due to the longer g/f over the Blackhawk plow handles. Put me in the love it group.

The squareback looks cool and different and I'd bet that the look has helped sell a lot of SBH's but it does not work well for my hands and I hate it.

The oversized grip on the SBH frame helps me tame recoil to the point I dont get bit by the trigger guard. Count me in on the "like" side.

Love the Dragoon style grip frame. :-) I just got rid of a Ruger Bisley .480 and bought a Magnum Research BFR in 475LB/480R because the 480 Ruger Bisley grip hammered my middle finger. I have other Bisleys, in 41 Magnum for example, but got rid of the 44 Magnum Vaquero Bisley because it was punishing to shoot. I prefer my Blackhawk 357s with the Dragoon grip frame and like the NM SBHs with the Dragoon grip frames, especially with the 4 5/8” barrels.

If you added them to the 357 and the 4-5/8", shoulda tried one on the 480 ruger and see if you liked it? I Might have to pick up a 480 now.

Love the look and feel, right up until I pull the trigger on a magnum load. Sometimes I get whacked pretty good, but not always.

I won't say I hate them but I'm soon going to fit the RWG to my SBH due to the square back trigger guard does sometimes beat up my middle finger. I'm sure this will be a thing of the past once I get the RWG SBH brass grip frame with THE ROUND TRIGGER GUARD fitted up on it. It's sitting in the safe for now. I don't hate them but I'll never get another with that square back trigger guard. Put me down as a 75% dislike.
