It's kind of finite. Hit 60 and there's no where else to go. All those younger have something to strive for. Us old guys are toast.

Well i’ve been reading for years just don’t post much. This is not my specialty so I mostly read and learn I think it generated response because I guess i’m not the only one that was curious about the question.

I will be 63 in July, I semi retired last year. I took a little Security job at a gated community last year for my hospitalization insurance. I work 30 hours a week and have four days off. I get a lot done in those four days, catch up on some chores around the house and do find time to shoot some and crappie fish. I just bought a Marlin 1895 JM 45/70 last week, another toy to start loading for.

I bought my first gun at age 14 a Ruger single Six 22LR/22Mag. I’m 56 now. My first love in Firearms is Single Action revolvers. Always has been. Especially large bore as in 44mag 45 Colt 475L 500L. I own and shoot all types of firearms. But always have a Big Bore SA close at hand My brother started me down the trail helping him reload and shooting his SBH He gave me a copy of Elmer’s autobiography. And the rest is history.

I'll be 52 in December. I started hunting with rifles and shotguns at 15,but I had already been target hunting with my dad since I was 10.
Bought my first semi automatic at 21 and shot the hell out of it. around 25 or so I got introduced to wheel guns and have had at least a half a dozen in my possession ever since.
I still love to shoot and hunt with rifles although after many years of lifting things that were entirely too heavy for one man to be lifting I have destroyed my right shoulder so no more hard kickers for me. The last 10 years I have really been trying to improve my wheel gun skills and have just about stopped hunting with rifles completely preferring now days to do it with a 5 or 6 shot wheel gun.

I turned 75 last November. I like everything: M1 Garands, AR's, bolt actions, lever actions, handguns, and shotguns( but not too much). Right now, in handguns, I have 6 double actions, 11 semi-autos, and 12 single actions. Oh, and 3 TC Contenders.

I am 55, as of 2/27. I have maybe a couple dozen revolvers and pistols. The first firearm I shot was my dad’s high number M1903 Springfield* with matching barrel, dated 5/18 (May 1918). About fifteen years ago, Mom & Dad came to visit and he gave me the old Springfield. It is by far my most treasured firearm! I have enjoyed this site for a number of years, although I had to re-register under a second “handle” because I couldn’t figure out my old login. Argh. Wm. T. F. (aka Bill) *Dad bought this rifle as surplus from an ad posted in “Field & Stream” magazine, circa 1957, for $29.95. He also bought a “PAL” M1 bayonet and “Victory Plastics” scabbard, which he also gave me. Noted M1903 researcher and author, John Beard identified inspector stamps on the stock which corroborated research he had previously done but had not yet seen on an extant rifle stock until I sent him pictures of mine. He was excited to finally see corroboration of his findings regarding senior Springfield inspector, Daniel A. Leary. He asked if he could use pictures of my example in a future publication but, I don’t know if he ever did.

John makes a great point about pictures. Way, way back, I saw a stainless contender on cover of magazine, bought the magazine, read the article about predator hunting with a contender, bought a contender, have shot a few critters with it. Still visualize that cover picture though.
Have bought other magazines, guns, and knives partially due to a picture. Pictures matter.

63, enjoying first year of retirement after 30+ years in the Chemical Industry. Now time to redesign and organize my reloading bench (just done with the makeover) and now can shoot more than once a week! My BFR's and an FA brought me here due to the "no BS" experience level here. Thanks for listening.
