Groo here A 10mm auto rim might be nice as it could be cut to 40 length for light loads. However , I think the 10mm with a 40S&W option [aka 357/38] will sell well. Now how about a 2 3/4 in snub? ?? Your wish is their command...There will be a 3" on the market shortly... I believe it is going to look like this one... www.taloinc.com/ruger-firearms/wiley-clapp-gp100-1752

I just want a regular GP-100. No half lug barrel, no novak sights. Still not getting one.

I keep following these posts and love you guys pics and shooting targets. Every time I get ready to pull the trigger I go get my 610 and talk myself out of it.

The 10mm does have the 1/2 lug barrel but standard Ruger adjustable sights...what Ruger was thinking when they put fixed sights on a "MATCH" gun is anyone's guess....

My 610 is an incredible gun ( though it took 3 times back to the factory, & contacting the area sales rep before S&W could make it right )
worked on another 75 rimmed 10 mm cases last Saturday...

Contender, looking forward to your report on the 10 MC. Interested in the heavier bullet loads in the 10 as I see this as the only advantage to shooting heavy for caliber 357 loads. Following...........

Well, my plan is to use a 180 grn bullet mostly. And I'm going to consider this gun as a back-up to my USPSA 40 cal S&W 646. And depending upon how it does,,, it may become my main gun, and my S&W become my back-up.

Well, I got my 10mm Ruger GP-100 MC today. I had some odd 10mm ammo, and my match ammo for my 40 S&W to see how things would be.
First,,, the gun looked fine as far as fit & finish. Not FA perfect,,, but very good & I was pleased. And they still have to space issue under the front sight base. But the front sight is tight,, and I have no issues with it at all.
So,,, on to the shooting phase. I had some odd ammo, with a 150 grn Nosler JHP bullet. I decided to shoot at 25 yds,,, to see how it would do. Well, I think that bullet is a bit light,, as the group wasn't impressive at all. I shot some other odd stuff,, with the "Blue Bullet" in 180 grn. The gun definitely liked that much better. Now we were on the right track. And I shot both types with the moons & w/o the moons. I prefer the moons,, as it makes extraction of the brass easy. When I was not using the moons,,, I had a few cases slip over the extractor star. And the same moon clips I use in my S&W 646 work just fine in the MC.
And for giggles,, I shot a few moons of my 40 S&W match ammo,,, as a comparison. It liked those as well.
Overall,,, after about 90 rounds,,,, I see a lot of potential in this gun.
There is one issue I haven't fully checked yet. There is a fair amount of case head space showing when the gun is loaded. This is where the case head is unsupported a bit & I noticed a slight swelling of the brass when using my demooning tool. I'll mike the cases,, but I'm sure I'm seeing a slight bulge.

Well, I got out a bit yesterday again. I shot up the odd 150 grn Noslers I had. I was shooting at 40 yds,, and it looked more like a shotgun pattern than a handgun pattern. When I switched to some Montana Gold 165's I had,,, it got better. Still not what I wanted,,, but better. Apparently this gun likes heavier bullets. Lastly,,, I picked on a 6" steel gong at 40 yds offhand,, using some of my 40 S&W ammo I use in my S&W match gun. Things are looking even better. That 6" gong was hurting after a few rounds. Once I burn up all the odd stuff,,, I'll settle down & work on a good load for this puppy!
