Nice! Makes considerably more sense than the Super Redhawk.

Great..... now I have to buy another gun. I have been saying for years that if they built a 10mm GP I would be all over it.

I want a 10mm GP-100 but I'm going to hold out for a regular 6" full underlug. If they don't roll out with one in the next 6 months I'll settle for a 4" match champion.
I have three (yes three) 10mm contender barrels and the performance from that platform is unbelievable. With the G40 I can only go so hot before I can't control the gun well enough anymore to allow reliable cycling. I am dying for a revolver.

Called a dealer friend...he is holding one for me....
As to rechambering for 10mm Magnum... If you read Jeff Quinn's article after a couple hundred rounds the clips were so mangled that ignition became problematic. My thought is unless you are going to make this a dedicated 10mm Magnum it would be best to shoot only properly headspaced 10mm rounds from this gun. Once the gun is rechambered to the longer round you loose the dual headspacing of the case mouth and moon clip which also means you can't shoot 10mm rounds without the clips...

Once the gun is rechambered to the longer round you loose the dual headspacing of the case mouth and moon clip which also means you can't shoot 10mm rounds without the clips... Bob “At first, reliability was one hundred percent, with all three types of ammunition tested. There were no failures of any kind, and extraction only got slightly sticky with a couple of different 10mm Auto loads. Later, after lots of rounds through this sixgun, the moon clips were becoming distorted and very loose on the cartridges. At that point, I started to get an occasional failure-to-fire. Having no new moon clips, I had to make do with the three supplied with the revolver, and the more use they got, the looser they got, and misfires increased. I tightened up the clips a bit, and that helped, but did not completely solve the problem. I think that new moon clips will return the Ruger back to one hundred percent reliability. Moon clips do wear out, especially with a lot of use, but they are inexpensive to replace. I intend to try some thicker moon clips from T K Custom in the future. “ Does not seem like a problem.

"Does not seem like a problem"
Guess to me it is... The gun is now totally dependent on moon clips to function. I have two .45 ACP revolvers, one 9mm revolver and four .38 Super revolvers and all can be shot without clips. If this gun was correctly headspaced for 10mm Magnum it should function fine with or without the clips when using this round...no?
I and several of my friends have been shooting .45 ACP revolvers since the 1970s. Just sold one that was purchased in 1979 and had been using the same dozen 1/2 moon and full moon clips since that time...never replaced a clip. In checking with two of my friends yesterday either have they...so why is this gun eating up clips in short order to the point of misfires?
It will be interesting to see if using standard 10mm ammo and unaltered chambers if the clips degrade as fast as they did for Jeff...
