That looks very nice. I would actually like to put an ejector housing and rod from the 6 1/2" Bisley 480/454 on my 5 1/2" Bisley 45 Convertible. Have brass drop free.

Plan to put my hands on one tomorrow, at least to heft it, look at it. Other than the above issues, anyone seeing others, more of the same ? Want to know what to look for. With 3 gun shops down and my 'Smith/FFL off the grid, am feeling handi-crapped here. Any further reports ? Loving it ? Game downed ?

Am up. Anxious to hit the road. Heading for Grice's. Billed as largest gun store in the state of Penn.. That's a lot to say, this being a gun friendly state with plenty of gun stores ! They show a BSBH 480 4 5/8" in stock though I cannot buy it there for silly legal bleep. But no problem as I stuck with the phone angle yesterday and after 3 dead ends, remembered someone I'd not thought of in a while. They have one headed my way now. Won't have it in hand until mon. or tues. though. Too late to protect me from the hordes of bears we'll encounter this 3 day weekend ! Ok,so I'd be happy to see a bear and that is very likely due to the places we are going, fishing, dog walking. Hey Sixshot, likely will want another of them front sights. A more pointed PM will head your way when gun in hand. Holster, hmmnnn.. Hey Doc ! Guess with the standard length ERH any BH holster of proper length will fit ? Should'a got more brass from Whit when I had the chance.

Ok, we'll talk when I get back home. Thank You. Hey, my big Sis, all 5 ft of her, lives in The Plains. She won a polo match last weekend. She scored the two goals, only goals. Defense did the rest I guess. Funny, when she Timber Raced I used to go down and photograph at least one race a year. Was walking by two older gents at the fence as the pack flew by. After the melee had passed, one commented to the other.."They call this ladies timber racing, but I don't believe there are any ladies out there" ! I agreed with their assessment due to the language and jockey whipping horses that weren't even theirs and each other ! Full contact horse racing. Sis was leading lady rider of the year twice and runner up a time or three. They may regret inviting her to play polo..

Route choice went thru last minute changes and Grice's , a long haul east on rt80 got scrubbed. Did just go straight east so stopped at Morrison's gun shop in Titusville Penn.. Likely Coogs knows of it. A box of 44 265gr SP's followed out. At the Inn, found bear scat within 30ft of where we park. Lots elsewhere, but no bear seen. Food there is amazing. Had pan seared scallops on sweet corn rissuto. PEI mussels shrimp and BBQ'd ribs were made to disappear. Yuengling followed'em down the pike. Home safe now. Likely pick up the new 4 5/8" 480 by Tues., am.. Doug, sent ya pic of bear doo-doo with Bulldog and speed strip.

Got the call yesterday just with barely enough time to make the detour and nab that gun ! Will work up a pic and send it to Doug, and if he'll be so kind.. So, do you want to see both BSBH 480's or the new one and other woods packin' pieces ? Or..with an array of fodder here, or with a blade, or ? Got a couple of hours to take ideas.

After further inspection in better light, am still quite happy with this gun. Front sight on straight. Finish on metal evenly done. Action a bit crusty, hoping a cleaning, lubing and a break in shooting will help that. Even with the crustiness, trigger is better than my 6.5". Grip panels to grip frame fit also slightly better than the 6.5" here, but not as good as any of my BH's. All in all,am HAPPY ! Am thinking of all the adventures over the years where I would have belted this hand cannon on with a sigh of happiness. Will work on some break in loads today and get started on calls/PM's for a holster, front sight of Sixshots and more brass. Whitworth, will we be hearing more from you on this gun ? If anyone knows of or hears of an article on it, please share here.
