That bullet looks alot like the ones Nat'l Bullet solds years ago, though the cannelure is set a bit lower yet on yours. The Nat'ls left more above the case, than normal too. All were solids though but they go more like 265grs..

Paulg IMHO, NEVER be afraid to ask a question, Especially about handloading! We were all new at one time And I don't think Any of us will Ever know it all. I'm still new to it after a few years and I Know I'm far from knowing a thimble full. Besides the folks on here are Awesome and, full of knowledge they graciously give freely and respectfully to us newcomers. We must stay safe in this hobby/sport and questions might just keep us from a Big Goof Up. Ask away buddy..... Fermin or Boolitdesigner, Will this one be available as a PB/Plain base? Looks like a dandy for the Special SPL. Thanks Ray We normally set the group buy up so you can order them both ways. I will set it up this afternoon.

Ahhh, gotcha Fermin. See y'all think of this stuff. Would've never thought of the case being too thick after the bullet is seated. The reason I'm asking about using magnum brass is if it works I could fill the entire chamber with bullet and brass instead of having a shorter round in the longer cylinder. I guess I'm running these ideas through my head because for some reason I really like the design and perceived functionality of this bullet. Although I haven't the first idea what makes a good bullet and mold. This will certainly be a great learning experience. The more you talk about it the more it appeals to me. I don't have the first item needed for casting and it will take me some time to pick up everything. I figure by the time y'all get your design and details nailed down and the completed mold is available I should have most all I need. So go ahead and count me in on the group buy. I'll call this casting and loading narcissism at it's best. I guess I'll get the folks asking what the hell would you do that for when perfectly capable bullets are available for loading in magnum cases? Or why don't you buy a .44 special? I have a .44 special. An older Bulldog. My answer to the first question is I don't know. This bullet and the idea behind it just appeals to me and I can use them in my Bulldog and Smith's. I guess. Hello Guys ;I'm new here first post . This is a interesting bullet , I can't see why it would not work with a 44 magnum as well as the 44 special . I have both and use the same bullets in each . RCBS 250K that is 265 gr. when cast with my mix. Been shooting handgun over 50 yrs. started with a old Colt in 44-40 . First gun I reloaded for . Glad to have you and feel free to sign up here: singleactions.proboards.com/thread/18213/terminator-group-buy-signup-list?page=1&scrollTo=214141

I didn't want to clutter up the sign up list with these questions.
Do you know what the mold will be made from, alum/steel/brass?
Do we need to specify a preference on the sign up list? ********"**************************
Will the mold come with all styles of the pins, or do we need to specify which we would like to receive on the sign up list?
Thanks BigBore44

It will be a brass mold Sir. It will have a sets of pins for solids, cup points, small hollowpoints, and large hollowpoints.

Miha molds are works of art, worth the wait and money they cost.
I'm honestly torn a bit on this mold, on one hand I am a cheap bastard and hate A: paying $45/1000 for gas checks and B: the hassle of installing them on bullets when sizing. But gas checked bullets tend to shoot a bit more accurately, the lead less certainly, but they are also far more versatile with hollowpoints because you can match your alloy to how you want the bullet to expand. If you want a violently expanding bullet to tear a Jack Rabbit up you could run an alloy as soft as say 6-8, near pure lead alloy, without worrying about leading. Also would work in something like a 44sp snubbie at standard velocity where you can still get good expansion at 750fps.
Want to run it in a 44mag at 1400fps and have a tougher bullet for deer? Harden your alloy to something along the 16-18 hardness and it will be far more controlled. With plain based bullets it is tougher to run the different alloys as easily.
I got in for a gas checked mold

Fowler, according to the powder coating guru's here powder coating should alleviate the concerns you mention for the plain base model. That's why I went ahead and put my preference in for the plain base. Maybe Mr. Thompson or our rising gun writer star Hoover/Tank can comment more on that option for this bullet.

Fermin says he wants to start a GB. There are several things he has to find out to do that,
The answer to your question is that the illustration is GC and PB....... both shown together for clarity.
