Only walls thicker on a 5 shot are the ones between the chambers. The chamber axis stays the same, therefore so does outside wall thickness. The main advantage is the lock notch is offset from the thin area over the chamber.
This looks very exciting to me. 454 Casull, 480 Ruger & 475 Linebaugh all possible with this configuration.
If we introduce Max and Jason, dare we even whisper 500 JRH?

I'd like to see Ruger put their name on a .50cal cartridge, or just adopt the JRH.

I'd take a 50 Ruger, with brass from Hornady at high volume and wide distribution. Solve this 50 cal. brass silliness that's been going on.

Jack Huntington told me the Ruger didn't require the smaller rim like the FA-83.
Just cut down 500 S&W brass and go. Much like the BFRs.
What a thought....
Wonder if Jason is listening?

One would think that with a 5 shot 480 (.475) a .500 is just a silly .025 away. Sure will be interesting to see what is actually coming. Of course I'm currently lusting over a $2500 off the shelf .22 pocket pool paper puncher (PPPP) to go with two S&W M41s, two 32 S&W longs, two 38 Supers, and three 45 ACP PPPPs so there is no money for much else. However, we all know I could be inspired by the right gun. Maybe "A pair and a spare!"

I think Ruger would rather have their own head stamp if they build a 50 cal revolver. And much to the better, in my opinion: less hassle for the end user, and hopefully fewer hiccups in brass distribution.

Starline has 480 Ruger brass in stock right now fellas.
Thank you Jason, yet again, for hearing and heeding the voice of the shootist.

I'm sitting here with a Harton-built .475 (thanks Greg!) with a 480 Ruger cartridge chambered. Keep in mind the Harton cylinder is oversized and the cellphone pics are lousy. Interesting. Tim

Several of us had the opportunity to handle this gun & those of you who are young enough to do so will be doing back flips when the announcement is made. Did I hear the word STAMPEDE! I'll say it again, Jason has been great for our sport, he's one of us & being at the Holiday every year & listening & shooting with guys with years of handgunning experience hasn't fell on deaf ears. I did 3 laps around the range & even hugged Terry Murbach when I saw the gun....so you know I'm happy! Lipsey's & Ruger just hit a Home run!

I really do hope this is a Bisley 480 with a 5.5" barrel. I'll be getting one as fast as possible if that's the case.

After sitting here for the last 10 minutes, measuring the pic on Lipsey's FB page and comparing the ratio of primer dia to the picture Prince put up. . . .it is real close to 480, but my calipers (and the highly precise act of measuring a picture on a computer monitor) the numbers are telling me that rim on Lipseys page is a touch bigger . . . .hmmmmm
