Even Sasquatch and the Chupacabra are interesting. He is what he is, a character.

I can definitely seeing Ross Seyfriend being in this. Whether it will be for the Westley Richards 577 drop lock or the #5. He had to sell Elk Song a few years ago something to do with a family dispute. Not sure how that all effected his financial situation. If this would have been 10-20 yrs ago I could see him taking more then a few pieces home. I also think that a few gun co. could be in this Smith and Ruger wouldnt surprise me.

As an aside, this "news" (to me) about Ross Seyfried selling Elk Song saddened me. It just seemed like a perfect place for someone of his caliber (sorry) to see out his golden years at. I've no idea of his financial status, but owning one of these guns at this point in his life would seem superfluous. After all, he could continue to seek out interesting firearms at a fraction of the cost and put his own personal stamp on them, as well as enjoy them.

I'm ignorant and willing to work with someone with a lot of customs that they'd like to share! Edit: I'm also a youth(ish...) and I own an AR. It's your duty to help me! Pretty good try. But I already got a couple of young Jedi under my tutelage.... I've got 2 (soon to be 3) little boys that will know who Elmer Keith, Skeeter Skelton, and Al Goerg are...I'll also mention a handgun hunter named Dick Thompson... I've found an easy way to educate folks and sort them out...My dogs name is Elmer Keith, when I meet someone new and they say "Elmer? Like Elmer Fudd?" I use this as an educational opportunity and it's amazing how many will remember reading him as a kid.

I visited the Elmer Keith display in the Cabelas in Boise a few years ago. I take it the display is closed down and all the firearms are gone and being sold off. What a terrible thing.

Can I just tell you a stupid story I've told before that at least gives me hope? I was out on public land shooting a couple of 1911s. While I was shooting two kids pulled up near me…they were fully tatted, punked out, with a Glock 17 and a "No Skateboarding" sign they'd probably stolen. They set up the "No Skateboarding" sign and began riddling it with bullets. I pretty much ignored them. After about half an hour one of the guys came over to me. "Excuse me, sir," the guys said. "My friend and I noticed that we're just throwing 9s downrange, but you're hitting what you shoot at. Could I ask you what you're doing different than us?" So I introduced them to Mr. Front Sight and Mr. Trigger Press. They were great students.
The future doesn't necessarily look like us…and I think they'll find Elmer Keith pretty cool. At least, I pray so…

Where is the mock outrage at being called Sir?

Double Wow! So you're really going to leave us hanging with that cryptic "I was there 4 times, 3 times to hunt elk."? The time you WEREN'T there was to......sell/buy/trade exotic firearms? Enjoy a brandy or two and trade stories?
I'm sorry, forgive me, I've forgotten my manners. I am not one to push a man's privacy.

1st trip with my little brother when he hunted with his 8 bore single shot rifle, I tagged along and by the way the best hunt I was ever on and never carried a gun, 2nd trip we both hunted, I got a cow with a 45-70, 3rd trip in July with wife #1 and stayed a week in the upper cabin.
The last trip was in 2007 for a cow with a Ruger #1 RSI in 7x57, Rich his son and I met up and 29 minutes later she was on the ground.
Those trips starting in 1999 have forever jaded me on elk hunting as there were so many and I mean everywhere.
I'll try to figure out how to post pics someday and share them elsewhere on the forum.
I can truly state that Ross is the real deal and a true gentleman and friend.
Thanks

I forgot to add that I asked Ross about Elmer and his abilities, he said when he knew him he was an old man and did some great shots and from what he could tell he would have been phenomenal when a younger man in his prime.
