Sounds like a great plan! Who made the octagon barrel? John Gallagher.

Any idea of the ETA on your JG 500? I haven't talked with John about an ETA. I dropped it off last fall and he mentioned then that it wouldn't be finished before spring (now). I have learned not to be too anxious. I may drop him a line soon just to touch base as I have other things to discuss with him. I've had a Bisley with him since June 2012 and no word yet...last I heard was back in March that he had sent it to Turnbull's for CCH...

"It's a custom only proposition. For $300.00 Jack Huntington reshapes the grip and makes a beautiful set of custom grips for it. Changes the whole personality of the gun and is a world better to shoot with the grip mods. "
Whitworth...
Are those the grips on your 50 Alaskan or did Jack fit a Bisley grip on the BFR frame?

Jerry Jerry, the .50 Alaskan is a D-Max, not a BFR frame, so the Bisley grip frame was a bolt-on. the grips on that Bisley are Micarta and they were made by Huntington.
