Could have lobbed that round from 100 yards away. Who knows! Can’t believe that at attacking distance say fifteen yards or closer that that bullet wouldn’t do more damage.

As always I'd suggest you start low and work up. I have no experience with this bullet in .41 but I have the .44 cal Hammer. When working up loads in 44 SPL I hit projected max velocities well before expectations, and actually stopped early due to reaching 1075fps ... Glad I was running the lab radar for the initial test. Based on my test is suspect this particular bullet sits deeper in the case than what I had found for similar weight bullets ... And that might hold for the .41 version. On another note I would love to know how your testing goes, since I have my eye on this mold. Thanks, Freeze Will do! I agree that the crimp groove makes this bullet seat deep. In the process of altering my seating stem. The flat nose stem was cutting a groove around the top of the bullet. I filled the cavity with jb weld so things are at a halt till it cures. Started with 17.0 of 4227. I think ( don’t have the book in front of me) the max is 18.6 .

These 41 hammer meplats are to meplaty for the rcbs seating stem. So do I file the cup flat or fill cup with jb weld?? I chose jb! Never pass up the chance to use jb weld! Lol 4-6 hour cure time or instant use after rigorous use of a file?.

Any recommendations? I see the weight is in the 215-220 gr depending on pins used. I have th fourth edition Lyman cast book . There is data for a 220 gr hard cast so I have a good starting point. Just want to see what you fellows went with. Thanks

I finally took the plunge and bought my first custom bigbore sixgun. I found a good deal on a stainless Huntington 475 Linebaugh with an octagon barrel. Cant wait to go hunt bunnies and squirrels with it soon! Remember 1400 fps for dem squirrels! U can load it down for the bunnies ,because bunnies ain’t that tough! Lol what’s the barrel length?
