Send me all your Lil Gun, god forbid we "erode more forcing cones" just like that evil 357 max did, some of you just need to shoot more and read less and stop regurgitating it like gospel. Mr. Baker himself has stated the loads were hot ones in the 353 mag, hmmm sound familiar? With 44's and 45's Lil Gun shoots great for me, especially with heavier bullets, sorry for the hi jack but this gets to be nonsense. To the OP, pet loads are those loads you have tailored to YOUR gun, that's what make them your "pet"... Asking someone else for theirs is a bit screwy to me, but hell, what do I know, at least you burning gunpowder . If anyone needs my address please pm me for powder shipment detail, send me your Lil Gun so your forcing cone can live again! Just saw this! Ha! |

I think I tried the whole list and settled on 2400 and HS 6 depending on the velocity you are looking for. I have basically went to loading most calibers around 1000 fps for EWC loads and have some favs I heat up for hunting in the 1150-1300 fps range as needed.
Taffin article from sixgun 8/9/22 - Taffin tests: The 500 Linebaugh gives a lot of good load data. He is on here sometimes but I cannot remember his handle. I am sure 2dogs or somebody can give it.
Not sure if Brian Pierce is on here but he has done some really good articles on the 500 to if memory doesn't lie. Not that BP has ever done a bad article to my knowledge.
If anyone knows him a compilation of his tests and articles it would be a great seller and I would gladly pre-pay or drive across the west to get one. Full disclosure, I do already live in central MT.
Long story short, I tried 8+ powders and a bunch of loads and settled on Enforcer@27.0 with a 435 GC LBT mold and wheel weight lead.
