I am sure this is probably a moot point, but for reference sake. I am willing to bet there are more 480 Ruger chambered handguns out there than 500 WE and last year I was down to babying my last 25 unsplit cases while I waited for close to a year I believe for Starline to make a fresh run.

Actually Whit if I remember correctly both you and Axe offered. Lucky for me I had the Lipseys 44 Special and the Bisley 41 to keep me occupied. And 500 S&W brass is everywhere and thats what I made JRH brass out of for my BFR.

Why bingo? I don't follow. The only reason the rim was made small was the limited space offered in the FA 83 cylinder. If you have a revolver custom built in the .500 JRH, you can have the rim either way, and if you buy a BFR in .500 JRH it will take either rim. The fact of the matter is that there is a boat-load of brass available to cut down if need be, brass that has been in production for nearly ten years. I doubt the supply will ever dry up. A proprietary belted case on the other hand....... Bingo as in Axe gets the 500JRH Rim and the 500WE Belt are the same size and do the same thing. Looks like we were wrong, Freedom Arms is still selling brass and the 500JRH has dried up and it doesn't sound like anyone will be making more any time soon. Wonder if this will affect sells of the BFR's 500JRH. We might be able to pick one up on the cheap in the next couple of months, I don't think people will like the idea of having to make there own brass and MRI might have to move them out like they did with the 50AEs last year.

There will be more brass in the pipeline soon from what I understand. Don't sound the death knell yet. The fact that Jack is almost out of brass means there are quite a few JRHs in circulation -- not a bad problem!

IF MRI will make me a deal on a nib 500JRH I would gladly take one of them over the 475 bfr im looking at getting....... makin brass isnt a biggie
