I was just wondering if I was the only shotgun lover on this site? If there are quite a few of us out there, could I be so bold as to suggest a shotgun forum? Only if there is substantial interest of course. This place seems like it's fast on it's way to becoming a great site, and I think it would be a great bunch of guys to talk to about scatterguns of all kinds. Like I said, just a suggestion

Maybe Lee would be gracious enough to make the Rifle section,....the Rifle/Shotgun section. The rifle section before was a little slow most of the time anyway IIRC.

I'd like to talk some shotgun, the only gun rag I subscribe to is the Double Gun Journal.

My taste in shotguns is a odd as it is in revolvers. I like petite SXS's and model 12's.

Sounds good. I too am a SxS fan owning one Benelli from my days of goose hunting with steel with the balance all being SxS's

I can say probably the nicest shotgun I've ever swung was a 16 gauge Merkel o/u. My favorite (for a few different reasons) to hunt with is a browning sweet 16. the most suprising,.......an over under Turkey special with 20" barrels, 12 gauge with 3 1/2" chambers,......by Fabarms.

priest I got to shoot one of the O/U turkey specials in 10 gauge 3 1/2". It adds a new thing to hunting. You don't know if you got your turkey untill you wake up. Oh yea DO NOT sit down and lean back against a big ol oak tree with your head a couple of inches from the tree when you pull the trigger!

;D ;D That's funny!!! While this one was just a 12, not a 10 gauge,.....that was my first thought. Very light.
Would make a DANDY upland bird gun though. really short and very light too. I couldnt' believe how tiny it was when I picked it up. great lockup as well. almost too tight.

This one was very tight too and I will never shoot one enough to loosen it up, not ever.

HA! That's the nice thing about semi's,....they do a lot to tame recoil in the big hitters. Had a Mossberg (IIRC) 10 gauge semi out for geese once,....it was a pretty easy shooter all things considered.

Priest is was probaly a Ithaca mag-10 or Remington. They bough the right from Ithaca and called it the SP-10. I shot a lot of geese with both guns and they are not bad at all to shoot. They weigh over 10#'s so that helps.
I would like a shotgun area too. I like the SXS and Ithaca 37's. I should be getting a Lefever 16 ga back any day now. I had it refinished.
