The pic of that Bowen with the Gallagher Octagon with a few rain drops on it is fantastic! Do you have one of the other side? I assume it has the ERH lug machined in it as well? I'll get to casting up some of those Ballisti-Cast 440's and ship em your way, hopefully within a couple weeks. BTW, that's a beautiful mould.

Is that the one that was on Bowen's website? If so, the price seemed a little steep at the time. Then you have to figure, you don't have to send him a base gun + you don't have to wait.................If I didn't have so many projects going on I would have bought it.............Simply Beautiful, that beauty was meant to be in the rain.

Steve, yes that is the one from Bowen's site. For me it was cheaper since I had recently talked to Bowen about doing a blues RS07 in 500L, which would have been $2995 plus my base gun, plus the extra for cch an scalloped recoil shield. I wanted stainless and he mentioned having a couple extra octagon barrels so could get it quicker as he wanted to use them. I really, really wanted it in stainless but did not have a stainless base gun, and with the serial issue and shipping to Alaska and all, I was just going to stick with blued---then two weeks later this sweet little thing popped up. Couldn't resist since it was exactly what I wanted without the wait and cheaper than ordering by the time I paid for the base gun and shipping it back and forth, etc. just wanted the scalloped recoils sheila which this doesn't have.

Snyd, yes, it has the erh lug built into it.
Hopefully I will get the frame and new stocks back for that blued Linebaugh 500 you turned me onto in FBx here soon and will post a pic. Scott Kolar said the walnut was very nice--so we will see.

wildwillalaska,
How's the sight picture on you .500 Vaquero?
Does it have a sight insert in the rear notch?

I have really enjoyed looking and drooling. You guys have some mighty fine pieces and my top 5 are #5. 17tombstone's 500spl #4. arokcrwlr's by Huntington #3. wildwillalaska's stainless vaquero and # 1 & 2 could be flipped flopped and either could be the winner Boge's by Dustin L and Mike454's vaquero. All are nice and I am envious that none reside here.

No culls in the bunch.. Personally I haven't quite cultivated the obviously acquired taste for the vaquero style custom.. Not that they are ugly they are just IMHO not appropriate for a bullseye shooter. Then maybe it is an old guy thing.. That means I've got 10 more years of good adjustable sights.
