I am always excited to see custom stocks. A few months back, Mr. jcn59 displayed some stocks he had made for his PowerMag. They were stunning. After I'd posted photos of my gun with those gosh-awful factory stocks...he took pity on me and offered to set me up! These came in the mail today. He's a generous man and since U.S. Currency would not be accepted, he finally gave in when I suggested I'd host him on a Missouri whitetail or turkey hunt. We have not set a date yet, but hope to enjoy some hunting before too long! Thanks Jim!! They are beautiful! Bob I could not wait for final fitting....had to brag on his work! Just a tad better than these heh?

Wow....talk about an improvement. Is your Herters a 401 PowerMag or a 357 or a 44? -Lee www.singleactions.com

Nice wood grain and I dont mean to be rude but why are there big gaps where the grips meet the frame?

Bob, They sure do look nice! What an upgrade, they make my World Famous Original Herter's Hudson Bay Model Perfect Four Point PowerMag Custom Rosewood Stocks look a bit ... less than Perfect.

Thanks guys. I sure love the grain in the wood.
Lee, It's .401
gsp7, NICE stocks.
hairy, Rosewood! Very nice. I really like the checkering.
Regarding the gaps...I've not done any fitting....they are close....each gun can differ a bit.

Whit...I'll have to let you shoot one of my 401 PowerMags. As crazy as they look, the grip holds and points really well. -Lee www.singleactions.com

Ya, those old PowerMags are unsightly, but they point and shoot pretty well. Sauer & Sohn built them, so they're tight. -Lee www.singleactions.com

They'll take anything a Ruger will. Shipped with far less endshake and side-play too. -Lee www.singleactions.com

Those really make the old herters pop. Still trying to get mine finished. Hit a bump with the hardware. Where did you get yours? I like the brass look. I've had my set since last fall, but dug them out and took a cell phone pic a few minutes ago. These were made by Dave Dolin in WV for my 401 Powermag. I'm giving him my 44 "parts gun" to make a few more sets when I take my set back for the oil.
