The relatively weak-kneed 94 Marlin is probably the least-likely candidate for such a conversion.. Ultimately, there are also questions of liability, some time down the line.. No reputable smith will build (or convert) a rifle that will not pass SAAMI proof, no matter how much you promise not to load anything for it, hotter than a lady-finger firecracker... It would be a super-foolish business decision on his part, and yours...

A word to the wise, I bought a 480 Puma. The headspace was .025 too long before firing it. After firing 12 rounds, the headspace increased another .030. Any questions? It was fairly accurate , but way gone now.
