Fermin, I have a question for you. You mentioned you're not keeping an official list or tracking requests (I assume everyone asking for product missed that statement, and that it's no big deal), or at least stated there's no line, which is great. I assume you're making a pile and will make them available when they are available. The question is, how to know when you're ready for us all to start sending you money? Do you plan to make an announcement within a thread on this forum, or start a new thread, or something else? I'd hate to be asleep at the switch, or off on a business trip or something, and miss the first run of these. Or not look as keenly as I could for an announcement that ends up getting buried in a bunch of posts requesting to be put on a list Bottom line, do I just stay tuned and check these threads and the gunsmithing and links forum etc for new threads every now and again? Best way to know when you're ready for us?

In ref. to Ruger sights, how is the factory front sight on the Single Seven Shopkeeper stainless installed? I would like to swap it out with a patridge gold or white bead sight. Any suggestions.

Soldered blade, that one. You can hit the barrel with a torch and pull it off, or file id down flush then D&T or what have you. For some reason, I'm alwyas nervous about torching stainless, I'm afraid I'll make permanent rainbows. So I tend to torch off my blued steel blades and file down my stainless ones. I typically dovetail at that point, but I think that's irellevant for the purposes of blade removal for this case.

Best way to know when you're ready for us? I am going to start with this thread and go and PM all the guys here with a blanket PM to be sure I get everybody. I will see if I can get an OK from Lee and have Glenn do a sticky in the Group Buys section. The Single Six sights are currently being made but are as long as 5 weeks out. I still need to secure bulk bubble mailers and some little things like that. The BFR sights will cost slightly more and be a bit more time wise as the bottom radius is different and will require a different cut. But I am committed to these guys as well. As I get closer and only when I do will I open these flood gates. I am going to try to keep the first 100 at some 35 bucks or so shipped because so many guys have just gutted this out and hung with me. The original list may well have been lost when Ray destroyed his F350. To be honest, we came close enough to losing Ray that it simply wasn't a priority to me for awhile there. So we will just pick up as best we can and do like we always do and hang together. Please remember, these are front sight BLANKS. They are far sleeker and more nicely proportioned than the factory product. They will be tall. So if you are doing a Single Six 41 Special, you WILL have enough front sight. Otherwise you can shorten them to fit your application. The factory screw will need to shortened a little. As soon as I can, I will look at cutting these to height, serrating, and even finishing them. I can also shorten your front sight screw for you if you send it along with your Postal Money Order for a couple more bucks. More, I will have a quantity done that will NOT have the screw hole nor a cut underneath for those of you who want this sight on your custom barrel. We did our level best to build a quality product and pretty much sold everything we could find time to build at some 60 or 70 bucks per and still got caught short. I am trying to not let that happen again, keep a high level of product quality and service, and cut the customer cost by as much as possible. You guys are the best of the best. More to follow.

In ref. to Ruger sights, how is the factory front sight on the Single Seven Shopkeeper stainless installed? I would like to swap it out with a patridge gold or white bead sight. Any suggestions. The Shopkeeper is a whole nother' critter DixieJack. If it was mine, I would be sure my cylinder throats were right. I would be sure I was shooting the right size cast bullets. I would NOT worry about point of impact BUT be sure I didn't have any barrel issues such as restriction at the threads or other accuracy robbing malady. If I could sit down and shoot the little Shopkeeper into nice tidy groups, didn't see any leading, got a nice lube star on my muzzle, only then would I consider messing with the front sight. If all the above is OK, then the factory barrel is probably worth having a dovetail front custom cut into the factory barrel. It would be easy to zero it that way and a flat serrated blue blade would be far easier to hit with. If you have leading AFTER fixing the throats/slug size issues you might be better off replacing a troublesome barrel before you spent the money to dovetail in a front sight.

We are just days away from going on machine. I’m working on being able to provide sights that are custom cut to height, serrated, and blued as options. Hang in there guys!! And thank you so much for staying with me on this.

We are about 2 more weeks out.
If everything falls into place, these will be offered as
A) blanks
B) serrated blanks
C) cut to height, serrated and blued.
D) blanks for gunsmith install on custom barrels
The BFR sights will follow shortly after as I have experienced a couple of complications getting my mill (the rain isn’t helping) moved and once in place it will require the attention of an electrician to have power. I might even be able to do some with a day glo insert. Thanks for hanging in there and a special thanks to Bill Fowler for taking time away from family and work to run long range interference on this project. It just helps so much having knowledgeable eyes on where you can’t be!

Fermin,
If you’re still adding to the list, I could put 3 to good use: blanks with screw hole for Ruger S6/S7.
Thanks,
Mike
