I love the sights on the Vaquero of Boge's. Seems to be just about right on that gun. I want the same done to my Bisquero.

I love my little Dustin 4" octagon 500 - cute little gun... That is just a beautiful gun but I have a hard time getting my head around a 500L cal anything being referred to as "cute".

I love my little Dustin 4" octagon 500 - cute little gun, easy to pack. John made the cylinder, just because I had my heart attack while the 500 was in the pipeline and John wanted to have a hand in it. I think everyone loves your 500L by Dustin, Boge. ;D Seriously. You posted your Alan Harton 32 and I had to have one like it.... now I'm doomed for a 500L Vaquero!

I'd probably sleep with a 500L if it looked as sweet as the one Boge has... and my wife would have a big part in that, I assure you. Me and the 500L would be sleeping on the back porch! (Not that I'd complain, mind you)

One thing seldom talked about when comparing 475s to 500s is the chocking of the barrel due to the thin barrel being screwed into the frame, this picture shows how thin the barrel is around the threads on a 500Linebaugh. without a Taylor throat I would think the thicker shank of the 475 would be better and by better I mean less chocking of the barrel requiring less lapping or fire-lapping of the barrel.

The barrel shank is thin on a 500. Also less meat for the ejector screw. One reason I recommend also using a set post. -Lee www.singleactions.com
