If it does have LCS stamped on the grip frame under the grip, it will make the gun a bit more unique. That will mean that the grip frame and likely the hammer and trigger as well are actually made by Linebaugh and are not Ruger in origin. There weren't many of the Linebaugh stainless frames made. Doesn't look like it, it only has a cursive J on one side and 23 stamped on the other. I'm thinking the 23 is matching it to John's numbering system, the bottom of the frame is marked with the same 23.

Bowen 480? Well done! While I'd love for Ruger to deliver a 5 shot 480 Blackhawk like everyone else, the guys who think that a factory Ruger 480 Blackhawk would scratch their itch like a Bowen custom need to find a Bowen custom to hold...

Now we need Sixshot to pop in and follow this Bowen 480 with pictures of his Harton 480.

Now we need Sixshot to pop in and follow this Bowen 480 with pictures of his Harton 480. It's on page two or three of this thread, Axe. I stand corrected -- end of page one.

tomc1020....your 480 is spot on. Not surprising it turned out so well considering the smith. -Lee www.singleactions.com

No Linebaugh or Harton, but out of the BFR custom shop and suites me just fine: Now I did have Alan Harton do a little custom work. This thing came with edges all over it that cut me up like a steak. I had him knock off all the sharp edges. I would never have believed a 45° angle could be so sharp, but man they were! Custom buffalo horn grips
