I'm pretty fond of my Harton 5 1/2" 480. Dick I'm pretty fond of it too - work of art. I can't see enough pics of it and I really like the caliber.

Mee, too, Dick. That's a beaut. I think I'd go for a 480 over the 475 myself. Perfect platform for the 480 IMO... although I've been looking at a blended custom somewhere between yours and Tek420. Maybe a Bisley Vaquero in 480, yeah....

My David Clements custom .475 Linebaugh with Scott Kolar marble ebony. I USED to a have a nice .480 Vaquero. It seems to be in good hands these days.

Some much inspiration... So little money.. Don't forget 2 Dog's cutting grass and picking up aluminum cans method. It sure worked for him.
Seriously, take the plunge.. I sure that most people with more than one full house custom remember a time when they thought that just one was out of reach... I know that is true for me.

I've have two FA83s in .475 LB represented by previous posts. Several years ago, I ran across a guy at the range who had a plow handle, three screw flattop .475LB built by John Linebaugh. He told me he got it from his brother who was the original owner. I shot it with real .475 loads -- it didn't handle recoil like the FA83s. I had a real good grip on it, but it pounded the bottom of my trigger finger, hammered the knuckle on my naughty finger, and slammed the web of my hand. What a neat carry gun.

Wow, a 475L on a flat top. That would be a handful of fury.

That Linebaugh FT needs a Bisley grip frame and one of David Clements' OM Bisley hammer/trigger sets...

Super parts? Now that is just way to easy... A special gun would loose some of the draw for me.. For me the Bisley part set on an OM is much more..

Here's a couple. One from Bowen and the other from Clements - Clements is hard chromed. What do you do when you can't decide on blue or stainless? Get one of each. Beautiful pair you have there.
