I've got more .44Mag's than any other centerfire. Same here. I love .44 Mag. Here as well! Dennis. Here's one of the many. 5 1/2 in. SBH.

Whatever happened to the .44 Magnum? Actually it's alive & well. I carry one into Bear country pretty regularly! Frank

I have a couple .44 mags one of my favorite calibers This is Trusty Rusty, one of a series of 5.5 SBHs that I have owned. These are the best gun for your money in my opinion; I have bought 3 or 4 of them loaned this one to a preacher friend that had bears bedding down in his yard. It sit's with the first Loaded pancake I ever made. I just picked up a set of Sixshot's walnut stocks for it. This is Spot, one of my favorite Alaskan guns. I put factory wood stocks on it asap. I traded it to a fishing guide, it came from a hunting guide. I carried it a bit when I lived in Wasilla, but my Mountian Guns are so much easier to pack. My favorite single action Blue Magnum Taffin style stocks Clements sights and action very smooth. A Bonus for me is I bought it from a friend. I have another a NMBH being fitted for a 6" S&W M-29 barrel right now.

Nice set there Rob! The NM SBHs cut to 5.5 are as practical as they get but something about the 5.5 OM with the unfluted and recessed case head cylinder that just flips my switch!

Sell them Thangs! FWIW I have found that it is much cheaper to just put them in the back of the safe and wait for the feeling to return than it is to try to buy some just like them later on. Now it is different when it something that we got a deal on with a plan to resell but these little beasties that we have inserted a bit of our heart into need to be treated different...

My first centerfire SA was a 44 magnum Vaquero. At one point in the last three years I had 7 or 8 at one time, including the Abilene which now lives with another forum member. Now I am down to one .44 mag. It's a Bisley converted 5.5" SBH. Most of my needs (?) of the .430 bore can be handled by the "heavy" .44 special - and I still have two of them.
I have sold two OM .44's this year already - my Lipsey's 5.5" 44 SPL can do everything I was doing out of the Old Model agnums (with 10 grains unique and a 250 Keith) - and I sure have a lot less tied up in the NM 44 spl's. You run into money in a hurry on the Old Models if you like SBH hammers.
