Well, for me it would absolutely be my heavily modified NewVaq357. I'd post a pic of the latest mods, but I literally am not allowed to. A kind gunsmith friend allowed me to build my own incarnation of something he's designed but not yet released...until he does, it's literally top secret . (And no, I'm not kidding...)

Colt 2nd Generation New Frontier .44 Specials. One-piece Ivory stocks. With one of these and a holster I'd be ready to hit the trail.

Nice Colts.
I'm worried about gun oil getting on your Stetson though.

Right now it's in a fanny pack. I'm working on a new belt holster that completely covers the sights - that's the issue.

Dag nab it if you boys haven't gotten me confused... After thinking about it a few weeks I realize that I don't know the answer... It is apparent to me that if I did I wouldn't still be searching... I've got two guns in Jasper and parts sitting here for three or four more. Heck I just decided today that I need a new 500WE FA.. Pick one gun? I can't even pick one caliber!

This one - at least until my FA 83 gets here... Very nice. Tell us more? 44 mag Bisley with the following done by Jim Stroh gunsmith par excellence: - Remove barrel warning
- Bowen Rough Country rear sight
- Stroh custom front sight
- Extra fluted cylinder fitted w/blackpowder chamfer (shown)
- Adjust headspace, cylinder end shake, barrel cylinder gap, custom base pin & bushing
- Trigger job, internal trigger stop
- Accuracy package (crown, forcing cone & Taylor throating)
- Half cock loading
- Cylinder face true for uniform BC gap
- Stroh custom cylinder stop
- Cylinder stop support
- Adjust timing
It' the most tight, accurate, and sexy SA that I own. I also have the factory roll marked cylinder, but I like the fluted cylinder best - both lock up tighter than a camels arse in a sandstorm.
