I was about to leave a local gunshow this morning when the man looking over my S&W M28-2 handed it back and told me he'll pass..."unless you want to do some trading?"... In front of me was his table...I looked down and there was a Rodeo...LNIB and it winked at me. I somehow managed to trade my gun and walked away with the Rodeo. Chambered for .45 Colt. With a brand new box & sleeve. I got home and was more than very impressed when I inspected and cleaned (not that it needed much cleaning) this revolver. Tight? Geesh! I don't own many as tight. I know it's not beautiful like so many I see here and on other gun forums, but the lock-up and fit is incredible. I am very glad I was able to trade that S&W today...I'd much rather have this than the $300 I had invested in that revolver. Here are a few pics. I can not wait to run some down-range. Bob Getting on in .45 Colt was the caliber of choice for me...well, maybe .44 Special would come in first, but hey...I like .45 Colt I may not have a nice case hardened frame...but I got a nice case hardened hammer! EVERY hole in the cylinder is an EXACT .451...no variation. Perfect.

Very nice Rodeo and especially with the beautiful color case hardened hammer! The hammer checkering also looks especially nice with a crisp border too!
You will love it even more when you start shooting it downrange!

Nice trade on a near new USFA Rodeo! I love the quality and accuracy of my .45 Biz. Now here's a thought, for another $300. Doug Turnbull will color case harden the frame, which includes: disassembly, polish/prep, color case harden and re-assembly. All toll, including shipping, you'd have under $700. invested making it a little more unique in the process. (I'm sure you're aware that Turnbull does all of USFA's factory CCH). The more you handle it and shoot it, the more you're gonna like it! Shadow

I'm sure that $300 doesn't include polishing the balance of the matte bluing and rebluing it. Ever heard the saying, "you can't get there from here"?

What's that rod you used to measure the cylinder called and where can the rest of us buy them?

Pin guages, from Penn Tool Co., I just went through this same thought procedure a few weeks ago and the Co. name was posted.

Harbor Tool also sells the gauges. I think I only gave $40-45 for the complete set from Enco Tool.
You know, after trading for and shooting this revolver...I'm seriously hooked. These are great guns (I know, everyone here already knows this)...but it was a shocker to step out back to fire a few and watch the holes fall on top of each other. Scary accurate. I mean it!
I've decided to keep this as my go-to range gun since it makes me look so darn good! The finish seems extremely durable. However, I've decided my next keeper is going to be another U.S.F.A....but a model that is easier on the eyes. I do not buy many new guns anymore...but this gun has changed my mind about that. There were several in U.S.F.A.'s Catalog that caught my eye.
I'd always wanted at least one Colt SAA...I've changed my mind. I'd rather have one of these.
