I will pick up my new BFR 357 with 7.5 inch barrel tomorrow. For the next few days I will range test it compared to my S&W 28, Ruger GP100, and new Python all with 6 inch barrels. 158 xtp and 180 xtp. I will hand shoot all rounds and rotate each gun so not to over heat. All are Factory with no work other than clean and lube. All have iron sights and I will shoot off a sand bag rest and all single action. Overall it is to see what each will do with 2400,4227,accurate9,and Lil gun. Just a little range time before it gets too cold.

Lil gun? Not in my revolvers. They cost too much and it's not worth the small velocity gains.

Power Pro 300-MP Seems to offer similar performance. Does it share Lil'Gun's risks ?

After the testing at FA, I haven’t run Lil Gun in 20 years probably.

I'm far from impressed with anything lil gun related, I've tried it in several cartridges and I never seem to get the return on the investment of powder. Thankfully I only ever bought 1lb

Oh it ran great in a 41 mag for me. But the damage possible to the forcing cone/barrel was enough to never use the rest of the bottle.

I agree no Lil'gun in my guns. I gave what I had to a shotshell reloader.

All of my testing is unscientific. Told at an early age to avoid the guys in white coats.

Have some of you lil'gun users and naysayers ever used it in a carbine? Is there less/no risk when the powder is not exposed to oxygen in the cylinder gap? Thanks. rugershooter

Power Pro 300-MP Seems to offer similar performance. Does it share Lil'Gun's risks ? I’ve used a lot of 300-MP in 357 Maximum loads and haven’t noticed any damage to the barrel face of two guns. By “a lot”, I mean approximately 1500 rounds per gun. I’ve never heard anyone report they have experienced damage.

IT IS IN REVOLVERS ONLY WHERE YOU SHUD NOT USE LIL'GUN, IT IS SAID TO BE OK IN CLOSED ACTIONS (NO BARREL CYLINDER GAP).

Lil-gun is supposed to be magic sauce for the 450 Bushmaster. I run 1680 in mine with 350s.
