Doing all of that detail work sounds more like finishing out a BFR than an FA!

Doing all of that detail work sounds more like finishing out a BFR than an FA! Well, keep in mind I am referring to used FAs. Sometimes, well used. But, I most certainly do the BFRs the same...

Can’t wait to get it in my hands. The prior owner lives about 40 miles from Freedom Arms and said he had them do a trigger job on it. A big thanks to Huey for the advice on spiffing her up. I am going to give it a try

Ronnie, let's approach another characteristic of these guns. The controversial 1-24" Twist.
Ronnie Wells and I discussed this in length recently.
I've got two FA97s in 45 Colt, one with an auxiliary 45 ACP Cylinder.
While I've only experienced fantastic accuracy, RDW says it can be a problem with shorter barrels. Both of mine are 5.5" Guns.
Granted, I've never shot bullets over 260 grns. I can see where heavy bullets at subdued velocities could be a potential problem.
Also, I've always shot the 45 Colt Cylinder at 950+ fps. My 45 ACP Cylinder is very accurate at 25 yards with factory ammo.
The 45 ACP Cylinder (Cut for Auto Rim) loaded with Berry's 230 Hybrid Bullets over Power Pistol at 1025 fps is my favorite woods carry load.
Look forward to your reporting on the abbreviated barrel...

That just screams Perfect Packin' Pistol. Light weight, accurate and capable of mild to wild loads. Said it before, but once again, Love that configuration - 4 1/4" bbl, fluted cyl, and white micarta grip panels. . Paul

Amen!!! My 5.5" Black Micarta Square Butt 97 is 37.2 oz while the 5.5" Wood Grip Round Butt is 36.4 oz.
It's hard to imagine a better packing gun....except the 44 Special. Not better, but just as good.
I predict Ronnie will become an addict just like the rest of us...
