I don’t know if it’s been mentioned or not, but, to be clear, Brian Pearce mentioned TWO new mid-frames: One with a new chambering, and another special edition. So double the suspense!

Hmmm, curious indeed. I know about the special edition, but find myself intriguied with the idea of a new chambering. My guess for such a gun would be 10mm Auto due to ammo availability and the potential to draw some of the Plastic Gun Crowd into the real world. Heck, you might even get some of those Mall Ninjas to go sit in a deer blind for a spell...

Not so interested in a 10mm, but I would sure like a JT inspired 45 Colt PPP revolver. Or even a dual cylinder gun.

I’m all for a 10mm release if it makes Ruger money and keeps the SA revolver line rolling. They need a reminder that revolvers make them money too.

I am guessing it is a Rimmed 10mm and 1/16 inch longer to boot.

The new gun is a mid-frame stainless 5 shot flat top Blackhawk, chambered in .456 Roshambo express, with the 3.75 inch barrel. Target audience are city dwellers that like to hike/camp in dangerous predator (Bear, Moose, Bison, Mountain Lion, Sasquatch) it will be shipped with a survival kit consisting of depends undergarments and a pair of brown pants in your chosen size. 😂🤣😜

10 mm would be nice...Old school platform with a current era twist! I have never understood why people want the 10mm in any revolver. It's an excellent cartridge in the semis, but why handicap the revolver with it? It will be the same size and weight as the superior 41mag. While loads are available for the 10 and the 41 that are similar, the 41 is also available with much more powerful loads and heavier bullets. The 41 also uses a superior roll crimp to prevent bullet pull, which the 10 mm doesn't suffer from in a magazine, but does in a revolver. Ditto. It's ballistics roughly duplicate the ballistics of the 38 WCF loaded with 3Fg black powder in my old '73 Winchester. This rifle/cartridge combo has never been considered anything more than a marginal deer rig. But for some reason the 10mm is considered ideal for bear protection.

I believe the real truth behind the bear protection popularity of the 10mm is because people are brainwashed into thinking high capacity rules and that it's the most powerful factory chambering in common pistols.
The facts in field use is that it about equals the 357mag on game. I've used both enough on black bear to know. I'll take the 357mag for it's better bullet designs and penetration.
A New Model Flattop 41mag would replace my OM Blackhawk 357mag as my light black bear gun

We probably all know that there were NM Flattop 41 Magnums, but they were on the large frame. Are those of you wanting these guns hoping for a re-issue or wishing for a 41 mag medium frame? I would be very surprised to see a medium frame 41 Mag but I would be in for one if it happened.
