I have been wanting to get my first Ruger Redhawk. I really want one in 45 Colt or the Convertible 45 Colt / 45 acp perhaps.
Did Ruger ever make a 45 Redhawk in a blued frame? I prefer the blued guns over the stainless.
Would love to see photos of your Redhawks in either color.

Yeah, Redhawks in blue have been done. This one has been abbreviated though. This 4" 45 convinced me I have no need for a 454. :D

They did not make a blued 45 Redhawk unfortunately. I'm with you, blued is preferable. Have a 7.5" Blued 44 and 7.5" 6 shot 357 Mag, which also only came in stainless. Have plans for a 4" 45 Redhawk to convert to a 5 shot 454.

Top quality and best price for it

There's only one reason, I came upon a JRH 5 shot 454 cylinder months ago. I'll be sending it and a 45 Redhawk to someone skilled in the near future, very possible Mr. Wells. The only thing that concerns me is that a take off cylinder is working backwards on a conversion rather than forwards. Which to my mind presents challenges and work not present for a ground up build.

Depending on budget and timeframe Al Segrist can rebore a blue .44 barrel to .45 and get a rechamber job and you have your blue .45 Redhawk. Any one of the currently active smiths can do this. For reference, I just got word that an 8” Anaconda barrel I am having re-bored to .45 is back. It only took about 6 months.

I got a 45 Colt barrel for a Redhawk Hunter in a package deal awhile back. My plan is to eventually get a donor gun to rechamber to Linebaugh's spec's.
I do not like, need, nor want 454 power level in a Redhawk. I had Reeder build a Mastodon in 500 Linebaugh and it's absolutely brutal with stiff loads and and even worse with the max. But it got better manners than a 454 my cousin has. That frame hump is rough. Redhawk level 45's are plenty, but it will probably be used with Linebaugh's Blackhawk loads more than any.

Okay I saw that when you first posted it. Looks like a real solution if I were still shooting the Redhawk with the heavy loads. But since I have a few BFR's now, it gets 355's at 1450fps and I am okay with it. Nice grips that look to solve a problem though. I'll probably try it out on my next one. The Reeder modification helped, but there's still a hump that batters my thumb joint.

At my age, I've come to appreciate rubber protection in more forms than one, for this discussion I'll drop the word Pachmayr. Oh and leather motorcycle gloves :-)

Pachmyer nor any other aftermarket grips will fit a modified Reeder gripframe. They're a decent grip though for a 44, but will peel the skin off with a 475. Ask me how I found out with 10 rounds
