Everyone in the path buckle down it is going to be a wild ride. We are right in the path of the current track. That will be devastating. Going to be lots of damage. A 20' storm surge is no joke...

Prayers for you all. Being a lifelong resident of Louisiana, and more of those years than I wanted were on the gulf coast, I understand what you are going through. I am glad to be back up to pine hillls of north west LA now.

We're expecting 4-6" of rain. We've received over 1.5" so far in northwestern Chester County, SC. The Bamberg area, down east has already had tornados on the ground. Folks in the NC mountains might get 20"+. Prayers out for all in the path.

Stay safe fellas. I've road out a few in my lifetime. It really starts getting wicked at that 120 mph mark. Prayers from SW Louisiana!

Hugo was a tough one when I lived southeast of Charlotte. Our house was in the path of the eastern eye wall where we experienced 70+ mph sustained wind with gusts to 90. My house, tractor barn and all my trees were damaged. My greenhouse was destroyed. I care not to ever experience something like that again.

Well, I'm in part of the path here in WNC. We've been having a LOT of rain NOT associated with Helena for the last couple of days. Already over 10" worth in many places. Lots of flooded roads. And now Helena is heading towards our area. I'm fine. We had the power go out this evening as we were preparing supper. Quickly switched to my Blackstone grill, and kept right on cooking. After 2-1/4 hours,, the power is back. We'll see what the overnight & morning bring us. I live well above any flood plane. I have plenty of supplies. We should be ok all around.

I'm working in New Bern, NC for another week or so. This area already has some flooding so it is going to be interesting to see what happens when this storm's rain hits today.

I told my son one year I got him a hurricane (Harvey) for his birthday. He was 7 and said "You can do that?"
The freaky thing for me is you go through high wind, then calm, then stupid high wind. You get to watch all the debris that went one way come back. I pray for everyone affected.

Saw late last eve that weather for Charleston SC was looking worse than anticipated. Lil Sis there now without power/wifi/COFFEE. She is an atty., Professor of Law and doesn't have a back up battery for her devices, etc.. Grrrr, her redneck big brother not happy.

Well that was fun. Luckily we missed the eye by about 60 miles and the worst of it went to our east. We have a few limbs down but nothing major. Power is out all over but we have a generator so we are good. Thanks for the prayers. Praying for those that are still in the path
