...or the Standard... Was down at large local shop yesterday and found this SM 4.75" .45 with nice stocks... Was LNIB. Dated card shows April/2021. If it was shot it wasn't more than once... Most of the ones I have seen had very plain walnut...these at least have a little stripe... With the two other "brothers"...

Gorgeous Standard. Would you look at those curly walnut grips. A "little stripe"? Those would be several hundred dollars if custom made. As an aside, I am assuming that Standard makes the grip frames and grips with CNC machinery, as grips can be interchanged with perfect fit.
You'll find that those guns are excellent shooters right out of the box. No need for an action job. The case hardening on this one is the typically vibrant Std. CCH. It doesn't look so much like traditional Colt CCH, but is lovely in its own right. For that matter, Colt doesn't seem to be doing tradition Colt CCH these days. As a note, the Standard CCH has a clear coat on it, but if you ordered a gun they can leave the clear coat off.
As I noted before, my friends have two Standards and two Colts and I have shot these several thousand rounds. No complaints at all with the Standards. Great guns. Not inexpensive, but worth the cost in my opinion for a completely US made Single Action Army style revolver.

...thank you...
Just brought it home this morning and hope to shoot it this weekend...
As an aside I did shoot the engraved Uberti yesterday afternoon...trigger breaks clean but is much stiffer than the Colt...and for that matter the Colt is lighter than the SM...
My eyes and "iron sights" are again compatible... Cataracts had degenerated the vision to the point of just about blind in the left eye...and the right one not far behind...shooting was no longer enjoyable... Had them done three weeks ago and now can read license plates across the street... Sight alignment and sight picture are now both in focus and crystal clear...

Very nice! She’s una chica muy bonita! (Hoping google translate hasn’t led me astray ) I’m looking hard at one of their 1911s as a BBQ pistol.

If the grips in that first picture are just kind of striped then I'm just kind of ugly!

I bought one a few years ago and it is a shooter with the 270 SAA. My one piece grip upgrade was not. Alan Harton made one piece grips for it that are proper. Every bit of a USAF that I have owned.
