That grain on the old Army is beautiful. I had sent Chig’s a picture of the first custom knife I bought that had Desert Ironwood grips and asked him to find something as close to matching as possible. He knocked it out of the park |

Spoke to Jack today and this project is coming along.
He's supposed to send pictures soon, so hopefully I can update the thread.
Looking forward to this one so a Custom BFR can follow.

Now I’m getting excited too. I just got a text from Jack that my 500JRH FA83 will be heading to the work bench soon. Maybe not an elegant as a sleek Octagon barreled gun, Jack made an integrated ( large) brake at the end of my 9” barreled primary hunting gun. It will wear a scope, and mainly be a one handed proposition.

I'm adverse to scopes on dangerous game guns, but am seriously thinking about a Holosun 507CS with the Vulcan Chevron on the 500 JRH.

I'm pretty excited about this one as it's my first FA Based Custom. Plus, it's the 50 Caliber that Freedom Arms should have adopted.
I hope to add a couple more Non-Ruger Based Customs before I completely abandon custom builds.
