Guess it had to come after they made the 45-70 version. Nothing my old bones want to fool with. Kind of surprised it wasn't a 444.

years ago I had an American Derringer corp. in 44 mag. I fired exactly 4 rounds of full loads. I cocked the hammer on #5 and while my brain said "go ahead" my hand said "F. U."
it felt just like laying your hand on a hardwood bench and hitting it with a dead blow hammer. I didn't keep it real long.

My first bond arms gun was a 44mag 2.5” barrel. The fire looked like it was coming from your hands. It was brutal to shoot. They stopped making that barrel. I kept 44Spl and spl snake loads in it most of the time. The 265 Partition loads were terrible to shoot 🤣🤣🤣

There is a guy local to me selling one in 45-70. “Been fired once” is his claim in the add. I believe him!

I have looked at the 2 bangers a couple of times. Held in the hand, heft the weight, bulk and figured the 5 shot 44Spec Bulldog makes WAY more sense. Oh, and the one banger, nope nope nope.
