Has anyone ever sent them a gun to be "customized"? I've got a NIB series 70 I'm pondering doing that with. Thank you

Thanks Greg, that's in my future. I’ve got birth year Colt 1911 that I want to get something done to and Nighthawk may be the most economical and fastest route.

Any insight in how one of the NH customs compares to a Wilson Tactical Supergrade? Just curious from a non 1911 type of guy.

That gun looks like a circus gun to me. Nitre and cch have no place on a 1911 for me.

Different animal…First of all the NH being discussed is a Colt, last is the price. You can order the NH classic with any features you want though, getting it into the Wilson TS you speak of.

I currently own Nighthawk and Wilson 1911s. Even had Wilson build me his Accu Comp LE on a pre series 70 commercial Colt in the mid 80s. For full up customs I personally think they are pretty much equal. FWIW I still remember telling a bullseye gunsmith in the 90s that I'd like him to build me a new paper puncher on a like new Series 70 Colt. He said, "Sell the Colt." Continued saying that he could build a better gun for less money with pure aftermarket parts. Now he wasn't saying any aftermarket parts. He was saying the aftermarket parts he selected.

They now have me at a price point comparable to Karl. I've no experience with either but if Karl builds it, I'll know who did prior to getting it back. This is my last custom so I gotta figure it out.
